Your world cup 11

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Tue Jun 12, 2018 9:06 pm

Forgetting the Dream team prices and rules, who would your world cup 11 be? (Apart from Brazil!!!) As much talent at this world cup as there has been in sometime, especially attack wise.

I would go

De Gea
Ramos - Pique - Alderweireld
Mueller - Kroos - Modric - De Bruyne
Messi - Ronaldo - Salah

I would pick Maradona, he's got a little tubbier than he was at his best, but I'm sure he can still do it.

Sorry it was tongue in cheek suggesting Brazil 11 is easily the best individually and collectively!

2-5-3? :o

Ramos is the most over rated player in the world.
His sending off record attests to that. Gets beat so drags attacker down. Plus the number of times he’s had an early yellow and the ref has softed on him when he should have had a clear second.

Pope
To early to pick the rest.

A world 11 without Ronaldo/Messi and only 10 players, incredible.

Ramos overrated?
His trophy haul would point to a someone who's one of the most successful defenders ever.

24 red cards for RM and should have been many more. The truly great defenders, Moore, Maldini, etc., barely have a 1 between them. Another great athlete, like David Luiz, who gets away with mistakes by pace.
Trophies aren’t the be all and end all. It just means he was in the right club at the right time.

Ramos has been highly succesful at Real Madrid for what must be best part of 15 years. He has over 150 international caps for for a brilliant international team. Countless major trophies. Captain of both. To suggest he's the most overrated player in the world is ridiculous. Mind you so is suggesting Pope in a world 11.
