Oddly, I am looking forward to our involvement more than at any other time since the days of Shearer and Sheringham. So many recent competitions have seen us go into them with the media trying to undermine the squad with 'revelations' about individuals.
I'm not expecting England to win it, but I am quietly hopeful that we'll make a better fist of having a go.

The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry “God for Harry, England, and Saint George!”

yes, c'mon england , the world is waiting to see if you can beat a team of no quality from a country where hardly anyone plays football.
The african minnow country, with a population of about 300, who' only began playing football last year, c' mon england...you can do it.

Great to see a young, hungry side at least looking like they are enjoying themselves.
Just got to translate that into a decent performance now.

Same, just didn't fancy this one for some reason. To be honest I think I've just grown out of the whole England Fans experience, chanting in the cities main square, the same 3-4 songs. I'll probably take my kids when they get a bit older though as I've had some belting trips

This. It’s really sad. Unfortunately the match thread will be full of them later.

If Germany go out, I think we will make the Semi’s.
Then it’s a matter of luck as much as anything else, something England have not seen a lot of over my lifetime.
We aren’t great, but with a bit of luck who knows, who bloody knows. Come on England.

I wasn’t going to watch. I haven’t really watched the last three tournaments; though I did watch Wales’ win over Belgium.
I might relent and watch England tonight, but with neither much hope or expectation.

Tunisia? What are you on about.
We can only beat what's in front of us.

I actually like this current England side more than teams of the past, I don't know why given it's the worst group of players we've had.

Why? Because you think you'd have lost to Germany...or because you think you'll be good enough to beat teams good enough to beat Germany, who you think would beat you? I've confused myself with that question.
No reason why England can't progress this time.

Precisely what it is.
Combination of being unable to relate to the players, spending thousands on previous dissapointments when players dont give a **** but most of all the fan experience. England fans in the main are embarassing. Especially on the road.

As said yesterday, I like the look of this England side.
A lot of attacking promise and prowess.
The level dropped somewhat in the second half, which is to be expected from a reasonably unexperienced side, but in Kane you have a striker who does not need a lot to score.
Let's hope they continue to play like they have nothing to lose, in which case they could go quite a way.
