Chris Brass's Own Goal (Off His Face)
They keep showing the famous Chris Brass own goal over here whenever they show the greatest bloopers of all time, but they never mention who he was playing for or against. I know that he played for a couple of clubs after he left us. I know he was wearing a lightish blue kit, so it was probably us. Just wondering.

He was playing for Bury.

Ah, thanks. The strip didn't look quite right to be Burnley.

Poor Chris! He’s a good guy. He doesn’t deserve to have his whole career distilled into this moment.
Two moments that stand out for me as a Burnley Fan are himscoring his one and only goal for us in a 7:2 win against York at the Turf(and plainly not knowing how to celebrate it)and, in the same season(under Waddle) heading from under his own bar, late on, to save us a well earned point in what was a tumultuous Season for us and the Team.
He wasn’t the best Footballer, but he always gave of his all for us.

Didn't he get called up to represent England at some level when he was with us? Could have made that up.

It was Darlington v Bury and was the opening goal of the game. Bury finally won it 3-2 so it didn't prove costly.
Brassy is back with us now on the recruitment side.

First time I've seen it. Funny. I scored one as bad in the Craven League 40-odd years ago.

No wonder he scored an own goal if he was off his face.

I know he's a good guy (like all BFC people are). Last time I saw his picture, he was visiting children in the Burnley hospital. Top bloke.

Didn't he do something similar playing for us at Shrewsbury?
