Jack Wilshere
I’m gonna get shot down in flames here but I think we should be in for Jack now he has confirmed he is leaving Arsenal
I think Sean could get the best out of him and he would be exactly what we need to unlock a defence.
Under Dyche he would probably win back his place in the England squad.
Yeh I know wages would be sky high but surely we could put extra bonus payments or sign on fee
Will never happen tho ....

I hope he bankrupts west ham.
Ha! Post above me came first (obviously) - but he's a perfect signing for a club with ideas above their station. West Ham being one.

It'll be West Ham out of that lot.
Doubt he wants to leave London, after all, he has so much spare time to take in the sights.

If he’s got any sense he’d moved to AC Milan.
Could totally revive his career at a club spending big money.

He's over rated.
He's a scrawny, half-baked, weedy little Hobbit.
He's a sicknote,
He's a big name , big ego on a big big wage.
He's not as good as what we've got.
Sod him.

I would agree, and the intensity wouldn’t be as much as the Premier League, but the skill levels would suit his game - add to that the fact he would improve England if he stayed fitUpTheClaretsFCBK wrote:If he’s got any sense he’d moved to AC Milan.

He won't be coming to Burnley but it would have been nice to see him play for England last night. There was a big hole in the centre of midfield where he would have slotted in nicely. There was certainly no one else in that position.

Re: Jack Wilshere
He has the talent but is far too injury prone, him and Defour in the same squad are not luxuries we can afford,Wilshere would have been perfect for England too introduce from the bench last night,if he had been selected, and can unlock defences, but not a Dyche player too lightweight.

Proverbial show-pony.
Lots of talent but ultimately, he's exactly the type of player who gets managers sacked. Can't be relied upon.

Re: Jack Wilshere
A luxury a team like Burnley can I’ll afford. Onthe pitch he is a one in four type (at best) and his injury record makes Darren Anderton look like a superhero.
I hope he does make a real go of it somewhere as it would benefit England but I fear his inconsistency with both form and fitness will not be changing. He is not a young kid anymore, he is in his mid twenties. It just feels like he should still be 20 as he has barely played when comparing years to games.

Can't influence a game from the stands,if you could guarantee Jack would start 30 plus games next season, and he was sensible with has wage demands,it might be worth a punt on a pay as you play deal, but Wet Spam will offer him silly money and he won't leave the sarf to come to us.Spijed wrote:At his best he's miles better than anyone we have.

True we scored twice last night, both from set-pieces though,in the second half we created little from open play. Alli was anonymous and Sterling disappeared,Wilshere is the type of creator that can find the eye of the needle pass.Japebe43 wrote:Did we not twice last night? Why did we need Wilshere?

Re: Jack Wilshere
Last couple of times I watched him he was physically like an Everton- era Gazza. However good he was, he’s too diminished now for whatever reasons. Too slow and weak.
As with Gazza, we really wouldn’t want to see the Burnley version. He’s surely absolutely nailed on for West Ham, a perfect fit for their ‘ambition’ and wage bill.
* Before anyone flips their s**t, the Gazza reference is only in regard to sad physical decline.

Re: Jack Wilshere
A good player when he's fit, unfortunately that's the problem now, can he stay fit,I'm afraid that's questionable.
Re: Jack Wilshere
He couldn't hold down a place at Bournemouth so what makes anyone think he could dislodge either Cork or Defour from our starting 11?! I wouldn't touch him; he'd be an expensive addition to the physio room!
Re: Jack Wilshere
Hard to think of a worse fit for us. After first day of pre season under Dyche hed be out injured for the season

Re: Jack Wilshere
I was at the Emirates in May and Wilshere was head and shoulders better than anything we had in our midfield. Yes he is injury prone, yes his conduct has been questionable at times, but I can't agree with the view that he wouldn't be good enough for our team. I don't think he would suit our team, I don't think he would have the Dyche team ethic, but he has the ability when fit, without a doubt.

Yes but no matter how good he is doesn’t alter the fact that he is “injury prone” ie no good to us.Herts Clarets wrote:I was at the Emirates in May and Wilshere was head and shoulders better than anything we had in our midfield. West Ham are looking to either pay up the final year of his 100k per week contract or pay towards his wages if another club takes him on loan
6 starts in 2 years would suggest he's finished at the top level and many levels below.

Re: Jack Wilshere
He was class, I hope Foden doesn’t end up the same way. He was very unlucky with injuries, I watched him as a 15 year old for England and he looked good but not the best player on the park, it’s a shame because he would have made a huge difference at Arsenal & England but for always recovering from injury

182 games in 12 seasons. Averaged 15 games a season for his whole career. Is there another club as stupid as West Ham to take a punt on a player with a record as bad as that?

It’s a real shame, v talented player.
He’s not even had that Indian Summer that most injury prone players have where they get a couple of years when they’ve stopped growing and get fit to play for a while.

Has he only started six? Will be 29 on NYD but only started 133 League games in his career to date. Yeah only six starts and some appearances as sub.
If he's got any sense he's been taking his coaching badges.

Why would anybody take him on loan if he's not available for selection, they'd be throwing money down the drain, I can't even see any Championship clubs taking a punt on him with that injury record, he's a talented boy, but he's also a walking sicknote, shame because when he burst onto the scene he was a revelation.
