Progress on the new corner stands?
Re: Progress on the new corner stands?
It's still bloody slow progress. DIY SOS would have had it done in a couple of days
Re: Progress on the new corner stands?
They're still working out the safe standing for the carers of the disabled.
Re: Progress on the new corner stands?
Blimey, what size VESA mount do you need for one of those?
Re: Progress on the new corner stands?
They'd mentioned a second screen as well. Wonder where that is likely to go?

Opposite side on top of the other disabled stand.Spijed wrote:They'd mentioned a second screen as well. Wonder where that is likely to go?
Makes sense when the biggest stand is the longside, so more people see it.

If you watch the video you will see it actually looks twice if not 3 times the size of the old one!deanothedino wrote:Looks shorter than the old screen, maybe wider though?
Looks quite high up. Not sure the occupants of the Bob Lord will be able to tilt their head that high.

Does look smaller than old screen unless it’s an optical illusion.

With the tunnel being in one corner that leaves two corners left.Spijed wrote:"A second LED screen is set to be installed at Turf Moor next summer, with discussions continuing as to its optimum location within the stadium."
One where you have plenty of space and a new building to erect to and another where space is limited and only old stands to fix to.
It might be better placed between the Bob Lord and CF but will cost 10x the money to secure it.

I don't think there's room in this corner or the windbreak sides will take any weight.

I was wrong. The old screen is a lot smaller (forgot about the fixed advert on the left side

Re: Progress on the new corner stands?
Second one should go on centre of Bob lord or CF roof. If you do it in the new corner then those in the JM stand probably won't be able to see either of them (assuming they actually care).

I don't go on turf to watch tele.

Hopefully the screen will be ‘built in’ rather than just look like it’s been plonked on top!

Excellent progress of the last few weeks. Must say I've missed the screen if only to match a number to an opponent.

Every time I looked to do that, there’s a **** advert or a birthday message showing!ashtonlongsider wrote:Excellent progress of the last few weeks. Must say I've missed the screen if only to match a number to an opponent.

They will be removing a good chunk of the side of the stand so shouldn't be an issue for longThe Enclosure wrote:Well thats a waste of time if you are sat in Longsife upper. It is right way up though lol

Re: Progress on the new corner stands?
I sit in the second row of the JHU, i had a pretty good view of the previous screen but due to the angle and the fact the screen appears to be a few feet further back into the stand it is now virtually useless for me.
I only use the screen for the clock, checking the number of subs used and opposition players etc but it seems slightly strange it isn't as far forward as it was previously.
Hoping for a suitable siting of the second screen.

Looked like a giant cake-stand in that corner from inside the ground.
As opposed to a bread-bin.

I sit on row O in the BL and i could see the whole of it Grumps.
The second screen will i would imagine be on top of the new stand in the opposite corner, so visible from the Longside.

Re: Progress on the new corner stands?
The placing of the new screen means it’s only truly visibly to the bottom half of the Bob Lord and the away fans. What a really strange way to locate it.
The entire Longside can’t see it like the old screen, and the Jimmy Mac must have trouble too?
Saying that, the amount of adverts on it probably means it’s not a bad thing.

It's poor form and says a lot about our fans that all the interest at turf moor is about a TV screen. And Not the people who are going to be accommodated within the structure and out of the sh!t weather they've endured for years.
