I can only imagine how the Arsenal fans who stood on the clock end felt. They had to turn around (risking a stiff neck) to see how long was left. They must have been furious.

1966 Sheffield Wednesday had a big screen..amazing when you think about it how long ago.in 2015 spent a six figure sum on one!

They are much more value for money now. I believe the unit price of Burnley's two new screens cost less than the original one. Technology allows them to be light too. Some grounds have them installed onto the inside of the stands now. It's mental.

So called 'supporters' like that are certainly not welcome and the club is far better off without them!

1) hit an old water main they didn't know was there (presume this was the reason for the recent road/water main works on Harry Potts Way)

2) found traces of gas from old mine workings (should have checked for this when they built the 2 stands; perhaps this was a new build-up of gas in the period since the 2 stands were constructed)

3) found some ACMs (asbestos containing materials) which appeared to have been dumped/buried from the previous stand works

4) An astonishing amount of power cabling between the BLS and JMS where little or no planning appears to have been undertaken when it was being laid

That's reassuring for people who will benefit from sitting there. I guess it just looks like the view is limited from the angle of the drawing. I've always sat/stood pretty centrally in all the four stands so cannot comment on the corners. It just looks set back and views obstructed by the sides of the other stands, but could just be me. Probably is

Preston’s is inside the stand, it definitely isn’t light though.

Spurs old ones at White Hart Lane were also built into the stands and won’t have been light.

I'm not knocking it. I think the best view I have ever had of the game was from the Bob Lord stand. I'm just seeing the proposed stand add-on's and hoping they're satisfactory.

Saw from a distance today - on a train going towards Tod - but looked as though there was a crane in the corner between the Longside & Jimmy Mac.

I thought the same. Rounded corners would have looked better. I actually just assumed that’s what they would do.

I think you will find from the plans that there are none to make the exterior of the new corner infills anything other than rectangular.

Rectangular or square buildings are far cheaper and easier to build than funny shapes.

And when all is said and done, that sums up this project, and BFC in general!

When there's A, B, C option and a cheap option, the cheap option will be taken everytime.

Costs more to have round things made. After ‘Herogate’ it’s quite obvious it was always going to be squared.

I'm sure if you are one of our disabled supporters who have quite frankly been treated with an attitude bordering on contempt for decades you wouldn't care if it was square, round, triangular, oblong or oval you just want to get a decent view have proper toilets and be sheltered.

Take it you don't have sky, as you can watch TV for a fraction of the price.

Take it you walk instead of using a car as cars are more expensive to buy and run.

Take it you have only 1 set of clothes, as the others will have absolutely no added value...

In fact forget it, think you realise what a stupid comment you have just made.

   I made a stupid comment? You have just criticised the club for taking the cheap option by not rounding off the back of the structure? Admit it, you’re just desperate to criticise the club about anything. You don’t actually care about the appearance of the new structure from the car park. It reeks of desperation.

And every single example you’ve given above demonstrates added value.

I know. Curved bay window years ago needed many cuts. Would be a bit easier with more steel I’d imagine on the corner stands.

I was only making comment on what would look better. A curved effort fitting both stands would look better.

Seriously? If you want to go to Cardiff, say, you don't think having a car makes it easier than if you have to walk - having a car adds value, in fact?

I think the point was that if people are watching the match from the new stands, they won't feel their view is improved if the wall behind them is curved. Wheras if you (having failed to reach Cardiff on time) are attempting to watch the match on your ordinary TV that doesn't have Sky, might feel that Sky would have added a bit of value ...

Not criticised the club for not making the back of the structure rounded at all, voiced my opinion on the club always taking the cheaper option to do things and this was another example of doing so.

However the fact is there, that by doing it squared off it is both the cheaper option and also reduces the space inside.

But that's all opinion based I suppose.

I'd certainly like some more in the CFS, I don't even go down at HT anymore.

I’ve been in the CFS a few times in recent seasons but the lack of space is what stops me from going in there full time.

It’s bad enough with our upside down stands - large top tier with small concourse, and small bottom tier with larger concourse.

Accident waiting to happen IMO.

The facilities are shocking, but I believe they are for most fans all around the ground.

In the CFS there's 2 toilets to service up to 1800 fans, with no hand drying options available most of the time.

Of course that is the answer!
You cannot fit a rectangle inside a circle!
No curved or circular buildings anywhere in the world have lifts!

Knowing how tight out club is that won't put a lift in they'll call the stairs the physiotherapy workout unit.Wheelchair users will pull them selves up to the upper level with the upper body strenghening conditioner....a block and tackle to you and I.
Inspired by the free stewarding idea.

Amazing how much contempt is shown towards the club by some on here. As someone said above, some people must live pretty hollow lives when they find it so hard to derive pleasure from things. It’s pitiful how some look at the negatives of absolutely everything, not the kind of people I surround myself with in ‘the real world’.

Get a peice of paper, draw a circle, then try and put a square/rectangle in it, without coming out of the circle and you will see why...

Yep, because you can’t fit a circle in a square. Everyone knows that’s impossible.

You could round the corners of the square inside the same footprint and reduce the floor area. You’re not making sense. Maybe the addition would look better curved, maybe it wouldn’t. None of us will know until it’s complete and even then it would be subjective.

Either way, criticising the club for taking the cheap option for building a new structure with straight edges is frankly idiotic.
