Cruising with Jane McDonald

Post by bfcjg » Fri Jun 22, 2018 10:33 pm

The jammy jammy jammy jammy jammy cow. Wife said to me I've watched football with you spend some time with me and watch tv on catch up and she selected this.
The alleged singer with the big nose has engineered a tv series that pays her PAYS to go on a cruise around Australia advertising a ship oh look it's got eight bars ten restaurants four gymns a casino two theatres etc and I have to visit them all before the visit to Sydney opera house etc. Poor old me a lass from Wakefield. Does a bit of touring then back on the ship for lobster thermadore and a bottle of champers whilst our lass from Wakefield pretends it's a chore. She must have a brilliant agent and channel five must have rejected Alan Partridge's monkey tennis for this. And to finally p!ss on the chips she sings at the end of it in a Mike Yarwood bland but I am such a great singer according to my mum manner. And the turd on the wedding cake is the abundance of Jane McDonald album adverts during the glorified advert.
I feel better now.

Yes its utter dog ****, she is one of those loud mouthed, professional northerners, but there is something very shabby about her getting air time to flog cruise holidays and her woeful albums.
Same sort of thing happened when andrew loyd webber had that show on to find a star to appear in one of his musicals, that crap was on BBC , and it was just a deal to promote his own business !!! what sort of double dealing is going on with these tosspots that they can do this?

Don't usually mind Jane McDonald, so tuned in last week to watch. Was very disappointed, mainly with her and the way she came across:seemed to try too hard at being 'the Wakefield lass' just spoilt it for me. 'Dale Winton's Fly Drive' followed and I thought his show was much better.

She has a star on the Wakefield Walk of Fame. I think there's just her, one of Black Lace and probably an egg chaser or two.

Wakefield isn't noted for its famous people.

She comes across as thick as a duck pluckers wick. Anybody who appears on Loose Women, loses any credibility in my book.

She's done well for having been nothing much more than a karaoke singer.

Her non-entity pal who tags along with her on these freebie jaunts surely can't believe her luck...

For someone whose not the most inteligent and a bog standard cabaret singer , the big nosed balladeer has done well for herself . The whole professional Yorkshire woman thing seems to dominate her every utterance whatever it it she’s on. Typical ch 5 tv where the production is paid for by the advertiser and the “ star” gets to unashamedly flog their own tat ( in this case hideous warbling autotuned covers suites for background music in a nursing home ) The kinda show you might watch if you’re immobile and recovering from an illnesses or injury or unable to reach the remote .

she appeals to the similar half wits with no musical taste whatsoever, who queue for months to get Daniel O'Donnel tickets.

She needs lyching for her rendition of California dreaming.

Couldn't think of anything worse than having to spend all that time on a cruise ship. Last time I went cruising it was like being stuck in a prison with fat over weight lazy people

Poor Jane. Getting some real stick on here. Not the best show on earth but not bad either and educational if you are able to be calm and take in where she goes.

There's a damned site worse on tv

"There's a damned site worse on tv"........maybe 20 years ago that might have been a decent guide. As it happens there is a dammed site worse on tv than this but it's still dire!! Nonetheless, there is something quite enticing about cruising with Jane.

In the 90s she was on the club circuit and frequently played in Burnley pubs and clubs. First time I saw her she was singing at the pub at the top of Rossendale Road where the Curry house is now. In the interval Our secretary asked her and her manager if she’d come and appear at Ighten Mount and she agreed. She came to the club two or three times just before she went working on the cruise ships. She’s a really nice, funny, bubbly character who could tell a joke or two and sing pretty well. At the interval instead of sitting in her dressing room, she’d ‘walk the room’ and have a drink and a natter. Fair play to her. She’s served her time an worked her way up and it’s nice to see her progress.

One of those programmes that crosses the divide between objectiveness and downright commercial bilge. Other series have done it as well Caroline Quentin in Cornwall and that other boring bugger in the Lakes who droned on about the same people every week. Made a series of six out of material too sparse to make one half interesting programme. Bilge TV.

I used to work for a company and we did work on cruise ships.
Didn't meet JM but in not order of any fame.
Jim Bowen. Brilliant
Paul Daniels ( Debbie Mcghee was with him)
Bucks Fizz ( not proudest moment)
Jim Davidson.
John Virgo. No didn't play snooker hit a storm balls everywhere.
Claire Sweeney. Dancer on the ship.
Tom Cruise. Was a passenger.
Martin Daniels Paul's son. Got ****** as farts together 3 times on different ships great bloke.
Had some great working holidays. Saw a few other acts but they didn't mingle shall we say.
Happy days.
