Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
Passport with matching address of clarets number is one form of ID required, but i didn't think passports have addresses in them?
Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
I’ve had a season ticket throughout the period of loyalty points but have been to hardly any away games. I have 6500 points

Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
I've passed on a couple of issues to the club that have been highlighted on this thread.
1. Someone having neither a passport or a driving licence
2. Friends and family disappearing.
If there are any more general queries that you think I should pass on, can you ensure you quote this post so I will see them in notifications and not miss them.

Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
The points system is fine but increasing the thresholds is totally wrong.
It should have been kept at 5000 then each year more people, including kids, become eligible for the first round of tickets.
It needs to be an inclusive system rather than exclusive, whilst still rewarding those with the most 'loyalty'.
Bumping it up to 8k is a joke.

It's passport or driving licence with matching address, the address relating to the driving licence.Sean Dyche's Watch wrote:Passport with matching address of clarets number is one form of ID required, but i didn't think passports have addresses in them?

Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
I’m 16 and got 6180, with me being a season ticket holder since 08/09 and I go to a lot of away games, hence the high total for my age. For this reason I can’t help but feel the system is seriously flawed as it is extremely extremely unlikely anyone under the age of 20 will have 8000+. Talk about telling the younger generation to p*ss off...
I guess we’ll have to be in Europe in another ten years

Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
A ticketing focus group was set up 18 months ,consisting of about 25 people, from apparently all cross sections of supporters.
Guess they have considered all options and decided to stick with the loyalty points system.
Not perfect ,but no system will please everyone.
Out of interest is any on here a member of that ticketing focus group

I think the people with 6000 have got a decent chance. There's a hell of a lot of people who use other people's Clarets numbers for big away games. Take this out of the equation and think we'll see a big difference.

Realistically, how many under 16s will be able to go to a midweek game away from home in Europe anyhow?

I just took the flak from Mrs TBR in the 08/09 season when trips to Chelsea and Spurs etc meant school was missed. Same in 09/10. Same would apply now.Burnley_Mark wrote:Realistically, how many under 16s will be able to go to a midweek game away from home in Europe anyhow?

I’ve also just noticed that you need the persons ID to collect the tickets so if you order any friends tickets linked to friends & family you’ll also need to get their passport or driving license to collect them

It's the start of the summer holidays. I was going to take the kids up in a motorhome hoping for spares on the day if we as expected couldn't get them first up.Burnley_Mark wrote:Realistically, how many under 16s will be able to go to a midweek game away from home in Europe anyhow?
Nobody will pass unwanted tickets on though if it could result in a ban. They would rather lose the 25 quid ticket price.
Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
The club are being wary not to get into any trouble with UEFA, which in my opinion is sensibleaggi wrote:Well UEFA regulations state:
When allocating match tickets to travel agents, the match organiser and the participating associations or clubs are responsible for ensuring that:
a) tickets are allocated only against production of documentary proof of identification of the spectators to whom tickets have been sold;
There's nothing about bans and the like.

I'm well aware of that, you're missing my point. I am saying that the way the article on the official website is phrased suggests that a passport with address matching the Clarets Number address is provided.ClaretTony wrote:As has been posted, there is no address on your passport.
If a passport without matching address is accepted as ID, why specify driving licence with matching address? Would a driving licence without matching address be accepted?

If that's the case, and it's photo ID required only, then the club needs to drop the requirement for driving licence with matching clarets number address.Reecey1987 wrote:I dont think it should make a difference just as long as it has a picture to prove who you are

Photo ID is a UEFA rather than club requirement. Article states you can take ID of the other person, so if you were collecting for another just take their driving license

Could they should set the points for under 18s at half.
Day one - 8000 adult 4000 under 18, Day 2 7000, 3500 and so on. At least it may give younger fans half a chance.

Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
So, correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t Sunderland tried a system where loyalty resets after 3-5 years so it gives an idea on the more active and loyal fans at the time? Has it been a success and surely would it be a much fairer method? I get that every system will screw some people up but at least it doesn’t eliminate the younger generation completely?

But the club are requesting a driving licence with matching registered address of the clarets number.
What happens if someone has a driving licence with a different address to the clarets number registered address? Will that ID be accepted?

The extra few months will cost you £16 more quid for a ticket. Never going to be a solution but it would be a shame if children can't go to any Euro away games.Tuddybfc wrote:There's then the argument about where does it stop? Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
My point wasn't financial, it was to do with points. If U18s could get tickets at 4000 points yet myself (On over 6000) couldn't because I am a few months older, that's hardly a fair system.Working_Class_Zero wrote:The extra few months will cost you £16 more quid for a ticket. Re: Aberdeen v Burnley - Ticket Information
The extreme sanctions / consequence of getting caught are very strange. I know an awful lot of United and Liverpool fans who travel across Europe with away tickets bought off people who can’t go or don’t want to go. Exactly the same for home games where season ticket holders purchase the tickets and sell them on.
I’m sure the Aberdeen fans have down exactly that as well during their trips across Europe in the past.
