Are you a butter wipe backer?

Post by karatekid » Thu Jun 28, 2018 3:35 pm

Do you wipe the excess butter left on the butter knife back into the dish? I do , even after toast. Too much food wastage as it is, in my opinion. ;)

we are talking real butter here - not spreads or marg or the like - as that should just remain in the shops out of harm's way

I remember Vitalite coming out in those round tubs. Seemed revolutionary but tasted like ****. Prior to that it was either butter or absolutely massive tubs of marge that you could store 500 marbles or a fleet of toy cars in after use. Can you still get vitalite?

I prefer eating the butter off the knife if it’s overloaded, then carry on buttering everyone else’s bread/toast.

I find that the excess butter comes off when I stick the knife into the marmalade jar.

Also leaves a little extra butter for the next person who wants marmalade.

You’re asking for mould my friend.

Whoever says margarine is better than butter is trolling?

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. Also its apparently one molecule away from being plastic.

Why anyone would choose it over butter I don't know!

People who wipe butter with toast crumbs back in the butter dish, should be shot, then stabbed and shot again.

Butter Is for girls and office workers.

Try spreading some of the fat out of the frying pan..especially if you use beef dripping or even lard...you won't use butter again. Bacon fat can be a delight too on toast.

I used to let the dog lick out the frying pan until I discovered this lovely alternative to buttering toast.
