Rocky 4

Post by FactualFrank » Sat Jun 30, 2018 10:47 pm

I've missed half of it due to the World Cup, but turned over to ITV to see this on. What a legendary film. I always fancied his Mrs, too! (30 years ago!) .. Talia Shire, I think?

Did you know that the average heavyweight punches at 700 pounds per square inch, Drago punches at 2000 pounds per square inch.

Theyve had 1 and 2 on recently but looks like theyve skipped the 3rd then.

That seems to be always the one featured less. Maybe due to Mr T being in the A-Team? I don't know. But I've seen the others far more than that one.

Raging Bull, starring De Niro... now that's a boxing film!

Yep, seen them all a number of times, but I think this has always been my fave.

It's not just that though. I remember watching this with my Dad who passed away a few years ago. I remember us talking about.. well.. stuff, as you'd expect, whilst watching this. It brings back memories of the last time you watched it. Anyway... still a top film.

And he bloody didn't!

Talking of your username... karatekid. I'm probably alone here, but does Ralph Macchio (at the time) remind you of Gary Lineker? He always did to me! But this is me remembering things when I was like 5-6 years old.

Love all the Rocky films - and watched Rocky IV last night and Rocky 3 earlier in the week.
Easy to criticise for dodgy acting, corny dialogue and unrealistic boxing scenes....but I just like them for what they are and have done for years.

Creed was a much better made film and got a lot of great critical credit in the industry. Creed 2 is out later in the year - for those who love Rocky IV nice little surprise in store for you at the end of the trailer !!

I’ve had the box set for years and remember watching them with my son when he was younger - he loved them. We also spent endless nights playing Rocky on PS2 !!

I’d rather boil a tramp’s sleeping bag and drink the broth than watch a Rocky film.
