Which utter melt threatened to do a freedom of information request for Aberdeen ticket allocation?

That “utter melt” would have been me - although it wasn’t for the ticket allocation it was to find out how many supporters we have in each points bracket
And yes, working for government myself, I did know the club wasn’t eligible for a FOI request, but wasn’t obviously wasn’t thinking

Re: Aberdeen away tickets are on sale...
Thanks for the clarification, that makes much more sense.
Apologies for calling you an utter melt, but I was going of the information provided by paultky.
I've been reading about some fans not being happy about not being able to get tickets using the foundation and then people making stuff up because they can't get tickets and I'd just about had enough. Didn't one threaten legal action at some stage?
Apologies again

But why was that post deleted ?
The site editor could just said what I did that it didnt apply.
And why delete my reply.
I have always thought skullduggery was involved to some degree in the issue if tickets but after seeing whats happened on here and ofher social media platforms wuth deleted tbreads I am niw certain,
I dont mind if tbe supporters ckubs get a blanket allocatiob of tickets abd if the ticket office staff can allocate a certain number of tickets to fanily and fruends but just lets be honest about it.
Isnt honesty one of SD's core values

It would actually be pretty interesting to see how many fans we have in each bracket now you mention it.

It was prior to that. And I can only assume its to take away any attention from the prior posts? Which were personal, abusive and probably even worse!

Count up has taken a while?
At this point they usually take them off line and make it ticket office only when stocks are low?
Sure the ticket office staff have had to deal with some crap over this game.

There are tickets left but the dot matrix printer has packed in. They are just awaiting a new ribbon so the sales can crack on.
In seriousness, how does our experience of buying tickets compare to other clubs?

The second I logged on was 09.30, it immediately said sold out.
If they were sold out yesterday, why not just say?

Maybe they are just re-stocking the system after overnight sales.

Club just announced now sold out

Other clubs do announce that, obviously ticket sales are a bit more secretive at Burnley though.Lancasterclaret wrote:It would actually be pretty interesting to see how many fans we have in each bracket now you mention it.

Re: Aberdeen away tickets are on sale...
Been a complete joke again from the start this. From the ridiculous points totals to the complete lack of communication and information so that people can make informed decisions, to the bizarre adding of a further priority period yesterday when it must have been clear they'd sell out today.
Whoever is in charge of this farce really needs sacking because they are simply not up to the job.

Re: Aberdeen away tickets are on sale...
This happened to me also, pretty cheesed off, left with a flight Birmingham - Aberdeen, considering changing it to Amsterdam in September at a cost of £80. I wouldn't have bought it if I had known they were recategorising the loyalty point bands.jedi_master wrote:The second I logged on was 09.30, it immediately said sold out.

It would help to know how many supporters were in each band.
Re: Aberdeen away tickets are on sale...
The whole thing has been a farce from start to finish. I'm 99% certain the players/staff have taken at least half of the allocation. It's a joke.
Re: Aberdeen away tickets are on sale...
I spoke to someone last night who told me all executive box holders at the Turf could claim six tickets. That gives an idea how many are disappearing to players, staff, sponsors etc. 300 or 400 out of a 2 thousand allocation is way too many.

Re: Aberdeen away tickets are on sale...
It's the lack of transparency that's off, not necessarily the allocation. Executive Box holders put a lot of money in. It's a standard thing for players to get them. The directors goes without saying. Other staff? I can certainly see how/why that might be a perk of the job in some roles. While, yes, you and I are cheering them on away, the club gets £1.50 less admin costs for that ticket we bought. How do you balance those? Everyone would come to a different conclusion but the club should have the stand by its decisions and be upfront about it. Unless of course it's either all a bit random or they feel it's not justifiable.jrgbfc wrote:I spoke to someone last night who told me all executive box holders at the Turf could claim six tickets. Thats not true. I know a few box holders. One of whom said same before they went on sale and said he would get me one. Hes left ****** off as box holders got zero priority.jrgbfc wrote:I spoke to someone last night who told me all executive box holders at the Turf could claim six tickets. Re: Aberdeen away tickets are on sale...
Agree the whole thing has been a farce. However, players certainly haven't been a large allocation. The family I know of one player haven't been able to get a single ticket, in spite of being keen to go. What was also interesting, was that they were frustrated about booking accommodation, flights etc, because no information was given to players either, about whether they would be able to claim tickets, so they couldn't take the risk.Murger wrote:The whole thing has been a farce from start to finish. Re: Aberdeen away tickets are on sale...
Well I know for a fact that a member of staff manages to get 4 tickets off a player.burnleytom wrote:Agree the whole thing has been a farce. Re: Aberdeen away tickets are on sale...
The idea that players and staff got half the allocation is complete rubbish simply because supporters with only 5000 points had a chance to buy them.Murger wrote:Well I know for a fact that a member of staff manages to get 4 tickets off a player.
If what you said was true then no-one below 7000 points would have had any chance whatsoever due to limited availability.

Believe me or not, I know it to be true. My mate has nowhere near enough loyalty points, yet has managed to get 4 tickets. If demand was so great they wouldn't have stood a chance, but because they did suggests the full allocation was available.
If there were only just over 1000 available how can people far down the pecking order get tickets via the official site?
Surely they would all be sold out long before then.

Myself by ticket office players got 4 free tickets and can buy as many tickets as they want. One player got 40
