Yeah for all the wrong reasons. He was terrible in every game and soon as Lowton came back we looked a completely different side.Top Claret wrote:Will most certainly be a Claret this new season.

He cost us goal after goal, Crystal Palace away he just let the winger run into the box and shoot. Liverpool at home, his man scored the winner and I believe he gave the stupid freekick away to begin with. The worst right back I've seen play for us.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:No he wasn't terrible in every game, he just wasn't as good as Lowton.

Worst right back? Really? Have you only just started watching Burnley then. I do agree that we looked much better when Lowton came back in though.

The best RB we have at the club.
Re: Phil Bardsley
Obviously, Lowton is the better right back but I thought Bardsley was decent when he played. He got off to a pretty good start and then his form slipped a bit.
Re: Phil Bardsley
West Mears Sinclair Lowton Anderson Trippier are the ones off the top of my head in the last 18-19 years.Pearcey wrote:Worst right back? Really? Have you only just started watching Burnley then. I do agree that we looked much better when Lowton came back in though.

Was it not Defour that gave the free kick away against Liverpool....KRBFC wrote:Liverpool at home, his man scored the winner and I believe he gave the stupid freekick away to begin with. The worst right back I've seen play for us.
Thought he was excellent when he first came into the team particularly in games v Watford, Stoke, Man Utd etc. It was only towards the end of his run in the team where he cost us a little - the Crystal Palace goal and Newcastle away where he was awful.
The worst right back you've seen play for us???? Really?? Must have only started watching in recent years then (and not seen Darikwa).....

If he's the worst right back you've ever seen play for us,you must be a recent convert, however i tend too agree he is not up to Premier League standard,i'd be looking to the future and make a bid for Nathan Byrne of Wigan,he is in the final year of his contract is only 26,and i feel could make the step up given time.KRBFC wrote:He cost us goal after goal, Crystal Palace away he just let the winger run into the box and shoot. Petulant nonsense. Thought the schools broke up next week. Lowton is far better but to say he is the worst right back is laughable. He came in and did a job but I suspect what we pay him for what we get don't equate.

Re: Phil Bardsley
KRBFC you are entitled to your opinion of course - just like the rest of us.
But when that opinion is based on zero knowledge or evidence it’s also fine for us to call you out for talking nonsense.
To say that Bardsley is a worse player than the likes of Dean West is hilarious. Anderson played for us a handful of times then got injured.
He did not cost us the Palace goal - their winger had his best game of the season and as Dyche admitted we were poor that day. We could have easily lost that game 4 or 5 nil.
The Liverpool goal was the fault of our centre backs and was it not Westwood who gave the free kick away ?
To say he played poorly every game is just rubbish - check out the ratings. Nobody agrees with you.
He’s clearly not as good as Lowts going forward but the fact that Dyche did not put Lowts straight back in the team shows you what he thinks of Bardsley.
If we get Dawson - I would however let Bardsley go - simply to free up a wage. Dawson can cover right back more than adequately.

How long have you been watching us KRBFC - can't be long? If your options are Trippier, Lowton and Bardsley then I agree he's the worst you've seen. Just be thankful you didn't see the likes of Paul France, Lee Roche, Peter Daniel, Chris Brass, Richard Huxford, Ally Pickering etc etc.

18..
Because he’s not a Burnley fan.
He pretends he’s a Burnley fan
He’s a Rovers troll.
He occasionally writes some supportive stuff to confuse people, but most of the time he is having a go..
He is having the time of his life on here.
Please watch this prIck’s output for a few weeks and then when he has done enough **** just get rid of him..
There are a couple more obvious suspects.

Re: Phil Bardsley
Like most have said, started well and then took a dip in his last few games and Lowton came back in. Against pace he will always struggle. He is an old fashioned defender, he won't provide the width or balls accross Lowton does but he's an experienced back up!
Worst right back? I think all of Duff, West, Darikwa, Eckersley were worse I'd even say Alexander performed poorly at right back, it was the midfield role he really came good in!

To be honest, I thought Bardsley started decently but then had an absolutely shocking run of 4-5 games where he was at fault for a lot of goals conceded.

It was Defour and the headed cross ought to have been cut out before it got to the back post. And the scorer Clavan I believe was offside.
We're you at the game?
Re: Phil Bardsley
Sadly I don`t think he is a WUM.
I agree with one of the posts above that he craves attention....which I find pretty strange when that attention is largely made up of people thinking he is a bit of a pr-ick.
The root of his outbursts on players like Bardsley is his dislike of Dyche. Think back to the posts he used to make before last season. Everything he posted pointed to him being a Blackburn fan and a massive WUM until the story of his Grandad came out and CT confirmed this.
It was only after last seasons success that he was too embarrassed to carry on with his attacking of Dyche and his team but every now and again you would see it come out in his over reaction to defeats or poor performances.
Upshot is last season he just had a lot less to complain about. But at the heart of it...if he is a Burnley fan (and I'm not convinced he is) he is still not a fan of Dyche.....which is even weirder than the attention seeking he craves !!
