All 3 of those will spend way over the odds on fee and wages, if they want him. If it's true those 3 are in for him, it's time to move on.mdd2 wrote:WHU Fulham and Wolves are all said to be interested as well as us coming up as 4th

I'm not sure who the hell there is to move onto now, its far from being embarrassing...but certainly a tad worrying.

Be surprised if this doesn't happen in the coming days.

Re: Alfie Mawson
Sean Dyche was doing a deal on the pitch after the game. Did his media commitments and then was pacing up and down on a couple of phone calls. Deals happening fellow clarets
Re: Alfie Mawson
Couldn't care less if this happened we need attacking flar pace asap before anything else

Re: Alfie Mawson
A good start to our summer signings!
Re: Alfie Mawson
Some reports suggesting Fulham have won the race (if competing for a transfer with Burnley right now could be described as one ). £20m.
Fantastic.

Re: Alfie Mawson
According to the main swansea forum he is not interested in a move to burnley.
Re: Alfie Mawson
Probably wants higher wages than we can pay so has instead gone to a newly promoted team.Terrier wrote:According to the main swansea forum he is not interested in a move to burnley.

Re: Alfie Mawson
I can see Mawson really worrying he won’t get in the Burnley side. It would be a close run thing, he is good but so are the incumbents. It is not always about money,
Re: Alfie Mawson
If we really wanted him we'd have paid the £18M asking price by now, we're obviously not that keen and he probably senses it so wont come here.

Re: Alfie Mawson
ye[ was just about to post the fee being 25 million, not for me at that price
Re: Alfie Mawson
Why not, Keane went for the same amount and Mawson seems to be similarly rated? We can’t expect to pay bottom dollar for players we want to buy when we expect top dollar for similar ones we sell.Vegas Claret wrote:ye[ was just about to post the fee being 25 million, not for me at that price
Re: Alfie Mawson
Dawson for 20m or Mawson for 25m, know which I'd prefer. On current ability they're very similar and at least with Mawson there's potential to make that fee back (and possibly more) in 2 or 3 years time.

Re: Alfie Mawson
Mawson is nowhere near as good as Keane.
He isn't as good as Tarks or Mee, so 25mill is stupid money.
Dawson is better, and can play right back as well.
I'd sooner pay 25 for Dawson than 18 for Mawson. Especially if Mee is running his contract down.

Re: Alfie Mawson
He made so many mistakes last season, no doubt Dyche could turn him into a profit but I don't rate him as highly as others on here that's allkaptin1 wrote:Why not, Keane went for the same amount and Mawson seems to be similarly rated? Re: Alfie Mawson
Not sure if Mawson is left or right sided, but we need left sided cover imo, we have tarks and long on the right, but only mee as recognised left cb, which is also a ? in terms of whether he is that or left back but has done admirable job and seems to hold back 4 together, it seems dunne is waiting in the wings at some point and maybe a 5th choice if you get what I mean but we are simply crying out for left sided 2nd choice, no one has seen whether ward or Taylor could fit in but it would simply be a square peg in a round hole, wrong thread but similar situation up front, we need someone with pace and movement and then someone with ability to thread a ball through which is probably already in the ranks, given this we can sustain our position.
