Belgium keep up this pace and clever football, England could get a real stuffing.

England go from 1st gear to 3rd, but it takes them longer than it takes Belgium to get from 1st to 5th.

They are certainly better than Croatia that's for sure.

I thought we hadn’t reached the lofty heights of 3rd gear yet......

They are light years ahead of us with the creative players they have, the gulf in class in the opening 18 mins is huge

Absolutely!
Belgium currently have one of the best sides in world football!

What on earth is Sterling doing on the pitch. All these folk saying he plays well.......I just don’t see it. He’s absolutely crap

He makes brilliant runs and gets himself into some really good positions but then invariably makes the wrong decision. So frustrating.

And the one time he makes the right decision Kane hits it wide

gonna be a lot of weight on Phil Foden over the next few years, already much better than any of our midfielders. We've settled in the game now, looking a bit better

We could do without his brilliant runs then nobody would pass to him and it would save all of us from wasting our time

Belgium are playing well tactically, too. They know we won't create much so they're not really pressing us. Why bother when you know the opposition will eventually give you the ball back, anyway?

England need to try passing to players in less space, instead of only passing to players on their own. Watch what Belgium do - they'll dink a pass into a player who has players a few yards away, as that's how you create the chances. If you only pass to players in acres of space, it'll take 25 passes before you create a decent chance.

Sterling looks as though he's falling over when running with the ball. He's never fully in control of it. Defenders just have to wait knowing he'll cock it up.

Southgate was praised for his ruthless streak in getting shut of Rooney and Hart, but his blind loyalty to Sterling is ridiculous. Sterling has had 6 world cup games and todays and nothing to show for it.

Awful!

When Sterling loses the ball, why doesn't he work his backside off to win it back? He just walks!

Loftus-Cheek is showing much more endeavour when he gets the ball.

Sterling, Deli Alli and Linguard all overrated as international players.

Luke Shaw will be our LB, when he gets away from Mourinho but Danny Rose is well short at international level.

Well, from the 45 minutes I've just seen, I think Loftus-Cheek possibly should have been given more minutes this tournament.

But we need to MOVE and find SPACE when we have the ball. We're simply not giving the player on the ball enough choices, so we're having to pass-pass-pass back or sideways.

Not enough movement and playing at far too slow a pace so we are easy to defend against.
Apart from a few exceptions, it is almost like they don't really want to be playing this match.

Some teams were unlucky to go out with one narrow defeat. By the time we finish we could have lost 3 games and beaten one good team from open play only.

Sterling off Rashford on
Lingaard on for Rose

Think i'd swap Kane for either Vardy or Danny Wellcrap, Kane just doesn't look mobile and he's not made a single run

Danny Rose is a shocking defender, when he was being touted as a 50 million pound player I couldn't stop laughing. We look devoid of ideas and not enough world class players.

Tripps major strength is crossing the ball on the run. He bends the ball beautifully away from the keeper. We keep feeding him when he’s static and has a FB in front of him. Numerous occasions he’s wasted energy getting up there and they lay it inside, plonkers.

Gareth has probably told them that if they lose this game then they’ll have an easier route to the final.

And Eric Dier still thinks we’ll turn Croatia over in the 2nd leg.

Kane does not look interested to be honest. He seems to be playing deep all the time so that when anything goes in the box he is too far away from it.

It's not just Trippier's crossing, it's his vision. He sees things the majority of the other England players aren't really seeing. Another great game from him.
