Fantastic prices. Can see that allocation going pretty quick. Could we have risked the higher allocation?

There's not a cat in hells chance that we'll sell 1700 tickets! Last season we took 1378 and the season before 1106. 1722 is plenty.

Same price as every season there now. Southampton have the highest concession price in the Premier League for away fans at £27 but Virgin Media step in to reduce every ticket to a maximum of £20.

Given that we've taken 1,106 and 1,378 in the last two seasons at the same price, I reckon we've got an allocation way above what is needed.

I'm liking the allocation figures being included in the ticket info.
I don't think we will sell out, but it's good the info is available.
Also I'd guess that if we did sell the initial 1,700 , there would be more made available should we require them.

It's a very busy start to the season, and I don't see a trip to Southampton being very high up on anyone's priority list.

First game of the season..I'd say it's a poor amount. Having said that 1.30 on Sunday not ideal for most.

Good to see the allocation. Be great if we can sell out. First game of the season we should do. Good Europa result at Aberdeen should set us up well.

The allocation is the total we will get - absolutely no reason to go any higher because we've never taken that many to Southampton.

Are they raising the bar on loyalty points this season?

Top bracket used to be 5k, have they decided to up it to 6k now?

Just asking for a friend who has just got upto 5k and hoping for a chance of Utd, City and Huddersfield away.

I've never known Southampton reduce the size of the away end for home fans, so I'd say that won't be the full allocation. 1700 should be plenty though, seeing as we could be playing away in Europe on the Thursday before.

You would pretty much imagine that if 6000 points is the starter for Southampton at 1.30pm on a Sunday that it will be the minimum needed for every other game as a starting point.

If we get knocked out by Aberdeen I imagine there'll be more interest, but I imagine most people are saving themselves for our European tour.

If it was a Saturday at 3pm we'd have taken at least 2 thousand. But we could potentially have 3 away games in Europe in the space of little over a month which will be a big factor for most people. Plus Southampton for a Sunday lunchtime ko isn't exactly easy to get to!

Traffic not as bad early Sunday morning than a Saturday so disagree

We played them at 3pm last season and took nowhere near the ticket allocation we've taken let alone 2,000. It's easy to criticise the club for not taking enough tickets for games, and I've done so on a number of occasions, but to take an extra allocation beyond this, and committing to paying for them, would have been a crazy decision based on what we've taken to Southampton previously.

That I don't know but it was probably the most we have taken there for a game. But we were playing for a play-off place that day and it looked as though the point would be enough until a certain Ross Wallace scored that late winner for Preston at Birmingham in the tea time game.

Did we relegate Soton that day Tony. ? I rremember it getting a bit lively... with their fans on the pitch, at the end of the game.

We usually fly down and back on the day however, the flights make it hard as there isn't an early flight just one at 11am. The flight back is fine as it is the usual 6:30pm but getting down is the issue incase the flight is delayed.

We have booked on that 11am flight.

It only takes 35 minutes although it advertises at an hour and five minutes so you should have plenty time.

Even if it lands at midday there is plenty time to get to the ground before kick off as there is no passport control or owt daft at Southampton.

Given that loyalty points never expire it's inevitable that they would be increased at some point.

It was more than lively. They were outside begging with collecting buckets before the game. Not sure whether we relegated them or they were already down.

Has the system become antiquated? My friend never used to have away ticket problems apart from the odd games like Scunthorpe or Charlton.

You could go down with Accie clarets on one of those bone crunches and fly back with flybe.

Full of good ideas

Did we not take more for that 2-2 draw under Owen Coyle when the Southampton fans invaded the pitch?

Apologies- just seen this has already been raised?

I dont think their mood was helped by someone in the away end wearing a Pompey shirt!

Rang and booked my shareholders ticket at 9.30 this morning. Still not got an Aberdeen (Pittodrie) ticket, although had a bear miss yesterday. Thanks to those who tried to assist. Appreciated.

Hope we sell out and get 3 points! Just spent the morning with my Saints pal. 38 years an ST holder. Thinking of giving up his seat next season. Not the same, he says!

Up the Clarets.
