Southerners are generally wealthier though so it's all relative.

Your thinking £110 for a shirt wow, but then £30 for a pair of football socks, Jesus Christ.

Believable from them.
Fans get every penny drained from them.

They sell millions upon millions of shirts world wide, they're doing what all clubs do by trying to maximise profit. Shirts are just another avenue.

Haven't ours gone up this year by over 10%?

Everything is so much more expensive these days and the wages have hardly moved. I dont know how it can be justified.

Those numbers are wrong.

£109 for a full kit more like.

£65 for a shirt etc.

For a bit of “perspective” those prices are for the “authentic” kit

A “normal” shirt is still £65

It's only justified by the fact that football fans are daft enough to pay it.
Honestly, who needs a replica kit? I can understand buying and wearing a shirt, but socks and shorts??? :o

Aye your right you are, as the long sleeved shirt is £74.95, still a rip off but not your prices.
Still a shocking £126.85 for the lot.

They are kind of wrong. The "fans" home shirt is £65....still ridiculously expensive but then again £45 for our shirt is not exactly a bargain is it ?!!!

Just seen that Adidas link.

That's just a massive con really isn't it?

Buy an identical one to what the players wear or a cheap crappier version?

On the Adidas site

Like I said there are 2 kits.
An authentic version that the players wear and a normal one

The United kit is just one example. I was generalising on a wider scale really. Im fine with prices going up, but when wages are more or less the same as they have been for 15 to 20 years it really annoys me.

Most clubs with sufficient demand do it. The player kits tend to be a bit less forgiving when something who isn't a professional athlete is wearing them.

For a club like Burnley the demand isn't there so the expensive shirts for the players isn't justified.

So if the “official” knock of kit is £65, why not just buy a knock off-knock off for a tenner off the market on holiday???

During the 70s before a home match against Man United thousands were being herded by police on Brunshaw road. A police horse was being used to back itself into the Manchester crowd and this particular horse must have eaten a bad cabbage or something. Anyway it unloaded all over this young kid in a gleaming new United kit worn in the style of the Bay City Rollers, the lad was in tears to the enjoyment of many Burnley fans watching opposite.

Always thought that was the best way to treat someone in this strip. :D

Utd players are on hundreds of thousands per week. They wont even blink at prices like this even when you consider away kits and training bibs

There can be no doubt whatsoever that football would be enriched by the total eradication of Manchester United and its odious fan base.

Epitomises everything that’s wrong with modern football. Aside from the other 137 things.

Are you a grown up Bodge? United fan base is made up of a) Mancunians, b) people from all over who began supporting them as children - as people do, same as Liverpool and increasingly City c) maybe a few corporate types, who cares.

Do you hate Barcelona, Real, AC Milan too?

If only everyone was as authentic as you and all the other moral arbiters of UTC.

The problem with these kits being this expensive is it isn't really adults buying them. I'd imagine the majority are bought by kids. And that means parents being put under pressure to buy something like this at such an inflated price.

The 'Authentic' shirt is actually £409.95 because you need a year at the gym to get it to fit properly 8-)

That's what they do with American football shirts.
Authentic and replica

Do Burnley players tend to wear the same material as the fans?
