My wife and I will be there for our first European match at the turf, 270 miles from our home in Kent. Ticket sales are looking very poor but we're hoping for at least 15,000.

I'll be in Birmingham, at the first two days of the first test against India, booked last autumn.
I'm going to Pittodrie though.

Dear, dear! Some people are really working themselves up into a lather. I knew that a lot of Burnley's Supporters were Fannies, but I hadn't realised just how many were Complete Fannies.

If you’re a season ticket holder and you don’t attend this fixture you should lose your seat.

Had there been a PL match on the following Sunday, I would have flown back from Spain for both games. But as it stands, it looks like I'll be watching it on tv hopefully.

Same with the early away games at Southampton etc.. for the Premier league.
Things are changing in the ticket office.

If its a rumour from you, with the greatest possible respect your track record isn't the best!
Its the busiest holiday period of the year, so the crowd is going to be low.
If we progress to the next round and the group stages, there is no way I'd be missing a home game in this, but it is what it is. I'm on holiday with my family and they are more important than a football match.

So for all he has achieved here you'd want him gone if one game doesn't go well? Sounds like you'd be well suited to supporting Leeds. Actually, no, running Leeds.CrosspoolClarets wrote:Got mine, and I’m a huge Dyche fan, but if this game is tossed away like the other cup games (Leeds, Stanley, Lincoln etc), it is time for him to go. You don’t need my permission, go on holiday by all means. But if you don’t attend the game you should be punished. Your season ticket seat should be put up for general sale for the rest of the season so that a real fan has the opportunity to purchase it.Foulthrow wrote:I'm on holiday - didn't realise I needed your permission to go. Its a crap tie and even some Latvian pub side in the draw would be better than one from the lower level Scottish league. We 2 are going from Reading as its in the school holidays.
The fiasco over tickets and the amateurish way Burnley FC treat fans wanting tickets doesn't help.
Comments about its not important to us from Sean is honest.Far better than the usual nonsense in cup competitions about us wanting to go as far as possible then fielding a weakened team.
That said I expect class to tell and for us to progress.

My only defence is my holiday was booked 18 months ago.
The idea that we might be in Europe was about as likely as Ringo holding his hands up and "Yup, I was wrong"

Re: Aberdeen home, is ANYBODY going
It certainly does but will the preparation for it be any different? I would guess that since the players returned for pre-season the manager's focus has been solely on the Premier League with 'friendlies' arranged to maximise everything that's needed to meet that challenge. Two extra games this time though but Sean Dyche hasn't altered the planned schedule to accommodate them with a friendly against Preston still going ahead despite a game in 'Europe' a couple of days later.SalisburyClaret wrote:Will be there - we're in Europe!

The squad is woefully thin at the moment with 3 of our more creative players,at least, not likely to feature in either game v Aberdeen so unless there is an influx of incomings which currently doesn't seem likely I expect our line-up to be way different to anything we might hope for against Southampton. I'd love to see us have a real go in this tournament like most fans seem to be craving but the reality is that it's not at the top of Sean Dyche's wishlist.
Re: Aberdeen home, is ANYBODY going
What are the indications that the club / Dyche aren't taking it seriously?

Because we haven't signed as many players as Brighton I think.
Hard to tell as the pre-season whinges change every season.

Re: Aberdeen home, is ANYBODY going
The ones we’ve won. The ones we’ve lost obviously weren't taken “seriously”.Winstonswhite wrote:Name a cup match that Dyche has ever took seriously?
Truth be told a second string PL 11 should be beating the likes of Accy and Lincoln. It’s not about not taking something seriously. It’s about giving fringe players the chance to play and impress.
I’d expect a strong team against Aberdeen. Get competitive minutes into the players.

Me from Middlesbrough and brother from Scunthorpe got tickets. We're in Europe so couldn't care less what first leg score is or the fact that it's on tele or that travelling on the M62 at that time of the day is a nightmare. It'll be a night to remember.

Re: Aberdeen home, is ANYBODY going
I also remember that but the game wasn't played amidst pre-season friendlies with the cricket season still in full swing. Your club are not being taken lightly but the game/tie doesn't have anything near the importance or significance that the games we have coming up do. I would personally love it to be a 'blood and guts British affair' but it isn't going to be, certainly not from us anyway.Top Don wrote:So we're a lower level Scottish League side but your last sentence says you expect to progress.

Not sure why you’ve linked that lineup when it just cements the fact that Dyche plays fringe players.Tall Paul wrote:https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40944670
*This isn’t a criticism, it’s just a fact that his priorities lie elsewhere.
On this occasion I actually think he’ll go full strength as they’ve obviously worked it Into our pre season timetabling. But come October November there’s no chance we’ll send a full side playing over to Romania or wherever when we’ve got Huddersfield away on the Sunday for instance.
Re: Aberdeen home, is ANYBODY going
Got mine. Might be last time we ever see Burnley at home in Europe surely that's a good enough reason ?
