He needs to be in the first team for his name alone. To the tune of La Bamba..

So what's the verdict so far of the new development squad team and new youth team compared to last season?
Any noticeable improvements? Admittedly you can't judge much but I wondered from those who went it they noticed an improvement?

Re: Stalybridge Celtic v Burnley - updates
I have not been to any of the friendlies this season and, because of my geographical position, I shall not be attending any other friendlies, however, I would say that, after just two matches and with both squads having players missing because some have been with the first team squad, it would not be possible to judge any real level of improvement at this stage.superdimitri wrote:So what's the verdict so far of the new development squad team and new youth team compared to last season?

This will only become apparent when both teams start playing competitively and have more settled squads and the Under 23 team have Michael Duff back in charge because he has also been with the first team squad.
Unfortuantely, for someone who travels a long distance and who enjoys watching the Under 18 team, it looks as though I will not be able to get to many games, particularly if we have a run in the Europa League so I may have to reserve judgement for quite some time, however, I do know that the Club are definitely trying to move in the right direction but it all takes time.

Re: Stalybridge Celtic v Burnley - updates
Impossible to comment. They are only pre-season friendlies and with u23s with the first team and u18s with the u23s they are very different sides than those which will play next season. It's better to look at the improvements towards the end of last season with the u23s when the new players were in on trial. The youth team were very good last season but that it an ever changing team with half of them moving on each year.superdimitri wrote:So what's the verdict so far of the new development squad team and new youth team compared to last season?
