Why can’t people go to a football match without it being a military operation?
All the bloody do’s and don’ts.

1. They are not a League Two side
2. It is under UEFA regulations and therefore the information is necessary

Re: Supporter information for away game at Aberdeen
Turnstiles open 75 mins before kick off then advise people not to turn up less than 60 mins before kick off.
Over 2000 fans through the gates in 15mins with bag searches etc

They might as well be. They are crap, if we don't beat them home and away comfortably then we don't deserve to be in the competition anyway.
Either way, half of them wont be enforced, including ID checks. If you have a ticket, you will get in.

Must admit, I thought that wouldn't work. I suspect there will be lengthy queues to get in with all the security checks.Dyched wrote:Turnstiles open 75 mins before kick off then advise people not to turn up less than 60 mins before kick off.

It doesn’t say you have to be in the ground 60 minutes before kick off. Just arrive.

Again I imagine just one of those things I imagine they’re obliged to say by the police/UEFA/ to cover their backsides when people don’t get in before kick off if they rock up 5 minutes beforeClaretTony wrote:Must admit, I thought that wouldn't work. It’ll be chaos if that’s what people do.RammyClaret61 wrote:It doesn’t say you have to be in the ground 60 minutes before kick off. Just arrive.
There’s also “park and ride” servive which set of 60,60,45 mins before kick off.

Re: Supporter information for away game at Aberdeen
I would think so - there were games last season in the Premier League when people turned up a few mins before kick off (Liverpool was a good example) and expected to be able to go straight in. The security checks at some grounds now makes that impossible.Tuddybfc wrote:Again I imagine just one of those things I imagine they’re obliged to say by the police/UEFA/ to cover their backsides when people don’t get in before kick off if they rock up 5 minutes before

Old Trafford and Man City security checks seemed to take ages last year. I guess this will be worse.

Just checking which Liverpool game are you referring to?ClaretTony wrote:I would think so - there were games last season in the Premier League when people turned up a few mins before kick off (Liverpool was a good example) and expected to be able to go straight in. Hopefully not the home victory in 2016/17.
Re: Supporter information for away game at Aberdeen
Just to let you know, the Castlegate has a couple of pubs that are like the Turf and Prinny Royal. It does have a Wetherspoons which is crap and as for eateries think Church St.

Great that the park and ride will get you to the ground under the 60 minute deadline.
I think just to ignore a bit of their advice might be best.

Sorry, was about to have a meltdown as the 'fans turning up late' was the initial reason given by the club for well over a thousand people missing Sam Vokes opener vs Liverpool in 2016.ClaretTony wrote:No, Anfield last season.
The fact two of the turnstiles for the JHU were closed and our multi million pound operation hasn't got a contingency plan in place for staff not turning up is a little poor to say the least.
Still waiting for the promised response from the safety officer regarding this, maybe they are still investigating it.
Re: Supporter information for away game at Aberdeen
Also be aware that the park and ride are of no use to Burnley fans unless you are staying in a hotel well out of the city.

Helped by the fact we implemented a card scanning system that still requires a turnstile operative at each turnstile. It's like a comedy sketch, that bit of genius from the club.Goody1975 wrote:Sorry, was about to have a meltdown as the 'fans turning up late' was the initial reason given by the club for well over a thousand people missing Sam Vokes opener vs Liverpool in 2016.

Away fans advised not to travel without a ticket, yeah sure, see you all up in Aderdeen UTC
Re: Supporter information for away game at Aberdeen
I wouldn't be surprised if there's more Burnley fans outside than in the ground, 50 odd years is a long time to wait and just being there enjoying the atmosphere is the next best thing.durhamclaret wrote:Away fans advised not to travel without a ticket, yeah sure, see you all up in Aderdeen UTC

Re: Supporter information for away game at Aberdeen
Had a look around and the same information has been issued to fans following their clubs in Europe for the last few years. Everton and West Ham were given very similar guidelines/advice, including not travelling without tickets- this will be UEFA lead information.
I’m sure most grounds advise fans to arrive early, I thought it used to say in tickets but checking it refers to T & C, I’m sure BFC have similar advice on getting to the ground early and being in your seat x time before the match. Same as any concert/event. Manchester United still advice 60 minutes before KO.
On the whole BFC fans are lucky they can for most matches leave the various pubs around the ground at 2:45 and still get in for KO

Re: Supporter information for away game at Aberdeen
It would have required a whole new set of turnstiles to automate it all, I think that's why they went with that system. It's similar at a lot of other grounds too.thatdberight wrote:Helped by the fact we implemented a card scanning system that still requires a turnstile operative at each turnstile. I don't think anyone has commented on there being no alcohol at Pittodrie. That's not UEFA but the club's own policy.

You have never been able to buy alchohol on European nights previously.

Not me you are begging to differ with but the club. No tickets sold can be collected without ID, I'd to go down armed with passports to collect our four. You also get a voucher with your name on so it can be matched at the turnstiles if required.Murger wrote:I beg to differ, but I'm not arguing. Doesn't affect me anyhow.

Think he means the 100s given to supporters clubs for fans without enough points as well half the allocation the players took. (take as many pinches of salt required when reading that)

It's a fair point regarding players friends and family, I was told ID wasn't required as the players collected them...claretonthecoast1882 wrote:Think he means the 100s given to supporters clubs for fans without enough points as well half the allocation the players took. The plus side is. The more family and friends the players have there, the more serious they will be taking it.claretonthecoast1882 wrote:Think he means the 100s given to supporters clubs for fans without enough points as well half the allocation the players took. Don't worry lads. I'll be on hand to smooth out any confusion. I REALLY think I should have been employed as SLO instead of the USELESS old goat we have. She's sooooo out of her depth. Unfortunately my commitments to BT prevent me taking on the role in an official capacity. See you when you get there lads.

Was told this by a senior member of the ticket office.
So just curious how they will get in?

That is correct, I am well aware of people having received tickets from friends of friends who know staff and players at the club. You have to wonder how many the players and staff are getting for them to be passed on to friends of friends.
I think the name will probably say "comps" and therefore any ID will suffice.
I don't think anyone will have issues with ID at the gate in all honesty

Had my ticket sold twice by Liverpool leading to a wild goose chase round the ground trying to sort it, only to go in and see someone else with the same ticket, farce!ClaretTony wrote:I would think so - there were games last season in the Premier League when people turned up a few mins before kick off (Liverpool was a good example) and expected to be able to go straight in.
