To be honest I see nothing wrong in doing what you guys are doing.
Planning a few days away on the **** from the missus with the added bonus of a European match has always worked for me and trust me I've been doing it for a long long time.
Given it is fifty one years since Burnley were in Europe in my book makes it even more acceptable.

There's self awareness courses you can go on, boys. Help you take a step back and see how you come across to others.
The bit further up the thread when flight prices were getting compared was pure unadulterated CRINGE :|
Feet on the ground, fellas, that's right, deep breaths, deep breaths....
Obviously not a problem for a tinpot league where it's **** easy to qualify every year
Come and play in a real league and see how many times you end up in Europe!! You'd be jizzing like a coke bottle shaken up!!

5 days in the back of an Intack Hire van should do it for most who can't get a flight.

Lots of decent players as well!

Gael Clichy, and Emmanuel Adebayor play for İstanbul Başakşehir...as well as Gokhan Inler, Arda Turan, Eljero Elia, Kerim Frei..

Should the club arrange something and take a hit on the costs accrued if we lose to Aberdeen?
It's not short notice that it's short notice though, is it? That excuse is a bit of a cop-out. Given the circumstances (and UEFA are responsible for the sprawling, unnecessary, long-winded structure of this farce of a competition so I do have sympathy) can the club organise something that's risk free to them and guaranteed? No - obviously. Unfortunately, at that point the club's decision making process seems to be, "Decision made - let's not, then".

Anyone any info on the City. Plenty of reasonable priced 5 star hotels but some in the Asian area. As I don't know anything about the place is it wise to book there?

For those travelling to Aberdeen it's going to be difficult to get any decent price on fights or hotels unless you are able to log on at the final whistle!

I think I'm gonna book without knowing anything as found a return for 300 euros (I'm on the continent). I have no priority for tickets as have about 30 points and therefore hope we beat Aberdeen and then the tickets get to general sale. My fear is that we accept such few tickets that they'll all go to higher points but anyway, I'll have a day and a half in Istanbul at worst and then try and get a ticket in the home end. Any ideas on their crowds?

The two hardest possible ties available to us, a Thursday night in Turkey on transfer deadline day, 3 days before a tough season opener away at Southampton on Sunday. At least if we drew a minnow side we could've played a weak side in the first leg and been fresh for the opening game of the season.

A few years ago a load of NI fans bought flights to Madrid after they drew Spain. The match was on Gran Canaria. Many complaints followed by those who had prematurely shot their..erm...you can see where this is going

It’s an e-visa which you can apply for online and is roughly £15. Says to do it before 48 hours of travelling so presume it’s straightforward.

This looks like a really tough draw.

On the plus side getting tickets shouldn't be a problem. In last season's three Europa League Group Stage matches their average attendance was only 5700. For the Champions League Play-off against Seville there were less than 13,000 in attendance. The ground holds 17,300, so there should plenty room!

Shocking draw , August in Turkey, I'm here now and can hardly muster the energy to go to the bar 41 degrees! Then a quick turn around for the Southampton game , I really think we should play a weakened team , come away with a slim defeat and hope we can turn it around at the turf , Southampton game is more important

One possibility:

Fly out on the 8th August, Manchester to Izmir...then catch the Bus from Izmir to Istanbul (approx 7/8 hours)

Back to Izmir...after the match.

Fly back to Manchester on the 16th Aug..

SENTIDO Marina Suites..... Kusadasi.....7 Nights, Half Board....Prices from ...£539pp

It's easy to do just make sure you go through the official site , there are companies online providing the visa at too off prices some people have paid £100 in the past it should not cost any more than £15 or 20 USD converted

I believe we can make a run in this competition, we just need the draw to favour us and so far it hasn't. RB Salzburg were in the semi final, CSKA Moscow and Sporting were in the quarter final, Marseille made the final. Ostersunds were in the knockout stages, some clubs with European pedigree but not exactly brilliant sides.

You would expect a testing opponent in the play-off round even for a seeded team, but too draw the two hardest possible sides in early rounds is a bummer,Hibs and Rangers really lucked out, still perfectly winnable ties, but not a cakewalk at all.

We'll be clear favourites to win both, but neither are walkovers.

Which rules out complacency so I'm happy.

And Turkey's a nice step up!

Nothing to organise at this point, it's got **** all to do with Thomas Cook - you do realise that the majority of flights for Liverpool fans to the CL final where with foreign airlines. There should be plenty of availability as there are numerous charter airlines. If the club say they don't have time then that is beyond disgraceful - how long does it take to pick up a phone ffs ?!

Everyone who wants one should be able to get a ticket. Their home gates average about 6,000.

My concern is that knowing our ticket office they'll accept a miserly amount of tickets knowing it'll be difficult for people to make it, for example, 500, and then these sell to all the die-hards and higher points gatherers. I wanna book flights now but this is my fear, I dont wanna sit in the home end. At worst, if we do get knocked out (edited, by Aberdeen) at least got a few days in Istanbul but if I cant get a ticket I'd prefer not to go even with a few days in Istanbul.

They will have less than a week to sell these packages.

ThomasCook Sport are just one company who do sports packages who are struggling for planes due to it being holiday season. The busiest month of the year. That's why I mentioned it.
