Is there anything 'Aberdeen' related we've missed off?

Post by Diesel » Wed Jul 25, 2018 12:19 pm

We've already established who was there first, perhaps we discuss who is staying up the latest before going to bed tonight?

I wouldn’t go to sleep in Aberdeen. All that granite, seeping radon gas. Not for me, thanks.

Bus from the airport into town is number 727 and runs every 10 minutes from outside the terminal building.

It runs until 3am.

Deep fried mars bars were invented 15 miles away from Aberdeen and are available at the Old Blackfriars pub opposite Wetherspoons.

Excellent reasons, the last thing you want when going to sleep is not waking up.

Perhaps things will pick up tomorrow morning and hopefully everyone will start their own separate thread but I am absolutely fascinated by what time everyone is setting off, how many they are travelling with and even the vehicle they making the long journey in.

Do they batter each finger individually or stick them together?

This is important.

That's wrong. Ends at midnight. Starts again at 0400. Only every half hour at certain times.

No need. Web site is already up to date. Don't know what you've read / how you've read it. Up to 0630 and from 2100 reduced service.

People bullshitting now eh, trying to look like they know more about Aberdeen than others?

Also people that know where all the best pubs are, are so hip and cool.

More medieval coin hoards have been found in Aberdeen than anywhere else in Britain.

Interesting.

Apart from Blacklaw and Angus there's the "Aberdonian" train. Quite noteworthy when I was alive.

Aberdeen has more millionaires than anywhere else in the UK and the average wage is 40k per year. There, you can sleep now.

Fried pies (Scotland in general) are actually delicious. A heart attack on a plate but very nice all the same.

I ordered pie and chips in a chippy in Glasgow and watched in astonishment as the woman microwaved the pie then dropped it in the fryer.

It was very nice but dread to think what state it left in my arteries in.

Blackburn is 10 miles west of Burnley.
Blackburn is 10 miles west of Aberdeen.
Does that make Burnley and Aberdeen, twin towns?

Did anyone have deep fried haggis in batter?

Attached link to the local rag video of the Burnley fans in Aberdeens Castlegate before the match.

The trivia of note here is the McColls shop that appears on the left of the picture and a bin directly behind the camera.

This is the location of the famous seagul 'stealing a bag of crisps' video and directly behind the camera is the famous 'man gets head stuck in bin' video.

Hope you all enjoyed your visit :)

Edit to add: To ensure there is not doubt on the Aberdonian character, both the seagull and the bin guy were confirmed as Rangers fans.
