He'd be back to his pre-move best.
Might have to bide his time, though.

Would have him back in a breath. Best defender ive seen play (permanently) for us. Cahill being the only one better.

Yep, I would have him back in a heartbeat.. Would take the pressure off the contract situation with Mee.
Nothing suggesting he is for sale though.

Fans don't pick the team (fortunately). Michael Keane is a quality defender who will prove it some time in the future.

Brilliant strong defender who grew into the best central defender I've ever seen in claret and blue.

Excellent defender when he played for us.
Re: Michael Keane
Brilliant for us. Couldn't give a toss about how he's done at Everton. You'd have to be a complete fool to look at it the other way round i.e. kbrfc

Why would he want to be 3rd choice or even 4ymth at Burnley?

Re: Michael Keane
May not have to be the case with the modern view of 3 at the back - personally I’d love a back three of Mee, Tarkowski and Keane giving our wingbacks some freedom to attack the wings.IanMcL wrote:Why would he want to be 3rd choice or even 4ymth at Burnley?

Re: Michael Keane
Played golf last Friday with a Scouse business man who happens to be a big Evertonian. When he realised I was a Claret he started on a rant about how poor Keane was and how we'd mugged them. I don't know what went on when he arrived at Everton but Keane has certainly gone backwards in his development since he signed for them.
I'd have him back though, for the right price

Re: Michael Keane
He signed for a set of fans with ridiculous expectations who have hounded out most of their recent good managers. He moved their to play under Koeman and ended up playing for Unsworth, Allerdyce and now Silva. In less than a year.CaptJohn wrote:Played golf last Friday with a Scouse business man who happens to be a big Evertonian. Hes also played alongside the past it Jagielka and Williams, the aging Baines and plenty of rookies. Their only other good defender, Seamus Coleman has had a serious injury.
Wont be long before they wany Silva out.
Theyre currently a scouse leeds!

Re: Michael Keane
Im a fan of Tarkowski, but he was not at his best towards the end of last season.
It would be great to have him fighting for his place against Keane.
As mentioned we might consider playing 3 at the back.
But most obviously we need a quality CB, and Keane would be every bit as good as Dawson or Mawson. He knows the Burnley way, and Dyche rates him.

I can see Leicester sniffing if Maguire goes to Old Trafford,do we have a sell on clause does anyone know.

Re: Michael Keane
Tell that to the Everton fans....... it's no coincidence that soon as he leaves we become a better team and actually win an away game, meanwhile Everton's away form last year was shocking with Keane.ClaretTony wrote:Further proof that you simply have no idea

Re: Michael Keane
Stones was "rubbish" for two years (last one at Everton and first at City). His alleged ineptitude didn't stop him being an ever-present in City's record-breaking title side and the England team that reached the World Cup Semi-Finals.

Re: Michael Keane
If you put any of our current defenders in a different system with far less protection, then they would all look like a fish out of water.
He didn't have a good season but you can't make as many excuses for him that Cricketfield has.

Where he made 18 PL appearances?
Not bad for ever present I suppose and he will be lucky to make that amount next season.

Re: Michael Keane
Our best centre half since Waldron.
Far less howlers than Tarks..far more ability than Mee..and playing at a much higher level than Cahill did here....and 2 yards quicker than the lot of them. If KRBFC isnt fishing then he's thick. He's a knob either way.

Re: Michael Keane
A wonderful way to get away from things has to be a game of golf but this post then turned into one of Dante's 'nine circles of hell' at the thought of it being invaded by a ranting Scouse business man with the added irony of being 'mugged' by some woolybacks.CaptJohn wrote:Played golf last Friday with a Scouse business man who happens to be a big Evertonian. I can see their logic in that, but it’s flawed in that they didn’t see how consistently well he played for us (and improved) over three seasons.KRBFC wrote:Tell that to the Everton fans....... it's no coincidence that soon as he leaves we become a better team and actually win an away game, meanwhile Everton's away form last year was shocking with Keane.

Re: Michael Keane
The co efficient's here are Mee and Dyche.
Take a decent defender and put them alongside a a game reader and a manager that understands how to defend and you have a formulae.
Keane, Tarks and Long have so far benefitted - we need to shoe horn in a replacement for Mee quickly for this continue to bear fruition.

Re: Michael Keane
I'd love to have Michael Keane back at Burnley. He hasn't suddenly become a bad player. I think it's clear that he isn't offered the same sort of protection and support at Everton. Get him back at Burnley and he'd be top class all over again.
