Peter Crouch linked

Post by RVclaret » Sat Jul 28, 2018 10:44 pm

That’s right, the latest player to be linked with us (via the Sun) is 38 year old Peter Crouch.

Walters and Wells looking for a bit more conversation and laughter on the subs bench maybe, we can't have them just sitting there getting bored.

Allegedly Stan wanted to sign him and a deal was agreed but then he pulled out because of the “Burnley Riots”

Let's push the boat out and be radical... and have more than one impact player on the bench?
Instead of bench warmers who before the game as even started you know are not going to be involved

Oh yeah, thanks for replying mate. I'd had heard that one, although I'm not sure how accurate it is. I thought the poster was implying that we'd been in for him more recently.

There is a picture on twitter of Dyche with Crouch at what looks like a concert or something like that.

Hopefully the journo has spotted that and made this link up.

You know what, this may not be the worst signing for 500k. He is always a threat due to his height and we deliver some pretty decent balls in to the box these days. Never relied on pace so not really declined over the years. He is quite pally with Dyche too I believe.

SD and Crouch were at the IOW music festival together as guests of Serge from Kasabian.

That's where this came from.

It's all about who else is signed.

If Crouch were signed along with Jay, Dawson and Mawson it would be an excellent window. If Crouch were our major signing a terrible one.

Still lots of twists and turns yet....

Why would we sign 2 cb costing over 40 million for the pair when were struggling to sign one ?

Perhaps we want him to stand in for Pope?

Probably best if the manager who took us to the 7th best team in the country made the decision rather than the rednecks of this forum

Point taken Reecey.

I was suggesting that Crouch wouldn’t be a poor signing, assuming we were able to land our other targets. Although not both Dawson and Mawson.

In other words Jay, Clucas, Dawson/Mawson plus Crouch.
