Top 7 or 8-14 or bottom 6 finish ?

Post by FCBurnley » Sun Jul 29, 2018 4:01 pm

So given our pre season injuries to Heaton, Pope and Brady and our lack of signings. Where do yo think we will finish in the upcoming season ?

Vote A for 1st to 7th
Vote B for 8th to 14th
Vote C for 15th to 20th

given the strengthening of others, our injuries, our so far disgraceful transfer window resulting in zero creativity I would say C is nailed on. 2 weeks to sort that out

At the moment, C. However, we've done rubbish in pre-season games in the past and then gone on to do very well during the season. We definitely need 3-4 players in though.

Think we'll survive but C for me. Anywhere in the B bracket including 14th will represent a good season. No chance we'll come top half this season

B if we buy some quality players, C if we dont, whatever is holding us back from signings?

Definite C and if there were a D 17-20 I would vote for that but could review this after the window closes.

My gut says D bottom 3.

We earned all the luck we've had over the last 5 years , but there's something missing and that lack of luck can turn into a mill stone round your neck. Without incoming that are an improvement on our best starting XI, and with so many of our best starting XI injured or unfit, we've taken a massive step backwards. Time will tell, but I look at the bigger picture and can't see how, or who is going to get us out of it.

C

Unless we pull our finger out in the transfer market, Dyche can keep us up given the money to do so otherwise bye bye Premier League.

I'd say B.

Upper B if we make a few decent signings. Lower B if we fail to do so.

If this is not dramatically sorted out within the next next two weeks rock bottom is guaranteed. We need an injury clear up and some serious quality additions. I hope and prey this will happen

We didn't come close to finishing rock bottom when Owen Coyle left and Brian Laws took over!

Not a scientific survey but results so far are
A 0%
B 34%
C 66%

Can only hope we are 100% wrong

A is certainly possible for me, but the key to that isn’t so much getting the numbers in, but keeping the current senior players happy whilst we do - wage differentials will always be devisive unfortunately and so far SD has managed this well.

In honesty, it appears that some (one certainly) may be believing their own hype and not the managers mantra.

If we can manage to strengthen in the next week or so A still possible, but likely B. If we fail to strengthen I’m fearing C.

I would take the top end of C in a heartbeat, especially if we qualify for Europa. We'll need some luck with injuries along the way too. But 3 or 4 good signings in the next 9 days (which would be some doing) and I'd upgrade that to a low B.
I don't mean that in a negative way, coming 15th in the premier league alongside a European adventure would be great even if we came 7th last year - there's very little between the teams relatively speaking, outside the top 6.
