Nacer Chadli
Talk that he is on his way to Besiktas on loan.
If this is a possibility, then I think we should go in for him straight away as he would fit our team very well (flank and centre if needed).

Re: Nacer Chadli
Agreed but unfortunately Peter Crouch and Leighton Baines are more likely and cheaper.
Re: Nacer Chadli
It will already be far to late if it is in the news. This is where our recruitment team is lacking.

Lacking what?!?Steddyman wrote:It will already be far to late if it is in the news. This is where our recruitment team is lacking.
We might not be interested is him.

Re: Nacer Chadli
Talked about this a few weeks ago.
Then, as long as it is not done and dusted we could jump in (as we did with Defour).
Continental recruitment still a big lapsus, there are people who could help if only they would allow them...

Re: Nacer Chadli
Not sure this is really what we need, to be honest. We've got a decent roster of first choice wingers - 3 who would all expect to start when fit, which is healthy. What we're really after in that department is cover, someone we can develop for the future. Chadli will be on a big wage from WBA days, there have been whispers before about his defensive diligence at WBA.
I've been a bit critical of the club in the transfer market recently, but I'm not sure this is in the same sphere to be honest. And given how long Chadli's been in England, I don' think the argument about our overseas scouting network really holds, either.

Re: Nacer Chadli
Played about 5 minutes last season. Didn't he get injured during the World Cup?
Re: Nacer Chadli
Would be a sensible option for us in my opinion. We don't know how long it'll take for Brady to get to fitness so the idea of adding Chadli to the mix makes sense. We'll need four wingers if we make it through to the Europa group stage that's for sure.
Re: Nacer Chadli
Doesn't he play for West Brom?
So would be nigh on Impossible for us to sign him on loan or permanently

Chadli, Jay Rod and Dawson - £50m take it or leave it? Part of me thinks it wouldn't be a bad deal for either party!mkmel wrote:Doesn't he play for West Brom?

Re: Nacer Chadli
Injuries are indeed a worry - however if we can keep him fit he would really suit us I think.
The point about WBA maybe true, however he will leave them for sure this season so player power will come into the equation.
Why not also try to get him on loan?
50 M for the three players is however a bit over the top to say the least

Re: Nacer Chadli
£40M for Rodriguez Dawson and Chadli would IMO be a good deal for us

Re: Nacer Chadli
He’s going to besiktas. That’s only to be considered a loss if he was one of our targets.
If you know he was, then by all means have a skrike...
If he’s not on our radar, then surely you are smart enough to work out the recruitment team are not at fault?

As for the second point. Sent a few recommendations to the club and local press after visits to games off the beaten track but never any interest from them to pursue.

Re: Nacer Chadli
He is exactly what we should be after. A technically gifted winger but one who is big, strong and can play accross the middle.claretspice wrote:Not sure this is really what we need, to be honest. Agree! He has a knack of perfectly timing late runs in the box too.cricketfieldclarets wrote:He is exactly what we should be after. A technically gifted winger but one who is big, strong and can play accross the middle.
Always been dangerous whenever I have seen him play.

He was injured most of the season for starters.Burnley Ace wrote:How did WBA get relegated with all these fantastic players?
And then you had a core of dickheads that rocked the boat as seen at Leicester the season before. Only WBA were in a far worse position to start with after ending the previous season in awful form.
The worrying thing about WBA is the similarities between their season before they want down and us last year.

Why is that worrying?!cricketfieldclarets wrote:The worrying thing about WBA is the similarities between their season before they want down and us last year.
The Beatles had a dude called Lennon, so do Burnley. Doesnt mean were going to get Yoko as the new number 10

You're being harsh on Darren Moore putting him on that list,Pardew was their Brian Laws moment.Richardsbfc wrote:Tony Pulis

But i'll have a stab that some Championship team will employ him later in the season, these clubs never learn which is why horseface gained so many relegation's on his CV,yet still got work.

Re: Nacer Chadli
So you would agree that the team performance is better (or bigger) than the sum of the individuals. In which case let’s not worry about these big names and look for those that will contribute to the overall teamBordeauxclaret wrote:The same way Charlton did with Pope and JBG.

Similar players. Similar style. Similarly over achieved and finished high up and similarly didnt invest to maintain that and push on.Dyched wrote:Why is that worrying?!

I can. Was only there for five minutes and didn't get much media coverage (from what I saw). West Brom are not fashionable. I've always liked them despite our record down there. They got more publicity due to that prat Chiles.

Re: Nacer Chadli
Transfers are all long chains requiring clubs, agents and players all to be agreed on fees, wages and length of contract. That is just for 1 player and usually, the losing club require a replacement lined up and agreed, so fans are quickly consoled.
The mesh of all these transfers make housing buying and selling look..simples! We should not condemn anyone, if a dead cert suddenly decides some other club.

He did alright in his first season at WBA and I think had at least one decent season at Spurs.boatshed bill wrote:Has Chadli done anything at all in the PL?

Is that why we expressed in interested in Andre Gray one evening and by the following lunchtime he was signed?IanMcL wrote:Transfers are all long chains requiring clubs, agents and players all to be agreed on fees, wages and length of contract. I remember Gray being linked over a week before he actually signed. I remember thinking there was no chance we’d spend that on one player.
