Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Probably 50/50 at this stage. Istanbul is a great city and well worth spending time exploring but it’ll be an in and out job if I do go.

Yeah I’m the same. I’m struggling justifying probably £800 for one game and 3 days off work. I’m still unsure though, and might end up going.
I live in hope, but with limited holidays I’d be a bit gutted if we got through and ended up with a game in Belgium, Spain or Holland, as they’d be ace, and very well attended.

I'll be on holiday in France, and therefore won't be able to go even IF we get through. Like many have said, the flights are extortionate and I can't justify it. Shame, really!

If there is an organised trip, I will go, but we have to beat Aberdeen first, That is not a given if the ref is as poor as last week's.

Would love to but absolutely no chance with the cost or time off as already got two mini breaks booked for the end of the month.

Me and the missus will be going to Istanbul. We'll be starting off in the Wallace Hartley, then Boyces Barrel, up to The Duke Of Lancaster for the match then nipping over the road for a kebab

I’m not taking anything for granted tonight, but you would think that by now we- indeed both clubs - would have published some information about a game scheduled for a week’s time. I mean, surely they are already making plans in the event that we do go through. Why can’t they tell us?
My biggest concern is how can physical collect a ticket before I go on holiday on Tuesday!

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
I doubt anything would be announced by either us or Aberdeen until we know which of us will be going. As for ticket collection, I'd expect that to be in Turkey. I'm told the ticket collection system worked really well in Aberdeen and I suspect the club will now consider it might have been better to arrange for all tickets to be collected there.scouseclaret wrote:I’m not taking anything for granted tonight, but you would think that by now we- indeed both clubs - would have published some information about a game scheduled for a week’s time. Looking at their average crowds and the likely size of our following no reason why it couldn't be pay on the night. Would certainly be a lot easier!

Are you serious? You will be required to purchase your ticket here and collect in Turkey.jrgbfc wrote:Looking at their average crowds and the likely size of our following no reason why it couldn't be pay on the night. Would certainly be a lot easier!

Why not? Because that would require common sense and treating people like grown-ups, which is not something football clubs, and especially UEFA, are big on.jrgbfc wrote:Why not? Looking at their average crowds the ground won't even be half full.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Anyone know if the points system will be in place given that I know many of the 8k plus brigade that are not going and we will have a week to sort it.
It will be nice if you could know within a week of the match that you can definitely get a ticket (even if it is a collect in Istanbul situation which seems the only logical way). If they do points on Friday etc it will basically give people with less points even less time to sort the travel logistics...
No doubt it will all be seamless again....

Irrelevant - we will have our ticket allocation for the game in the designated away area and tickets will be sold in advance. I would assume any Burnley fans travelling will be required to collect their tickets in Istanbul.jrgbfc wrote:Why not? Looking at their average crowds the ground won't even be half full.
Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
That’ll rule me out. The only flights I can make work around work will land at 16.30 in Istanbul. In Aberdeen the window for ticket collection ended at 17.00 (I think).ClaretTony wrote:Irrelevant - we will have our ticket allocation for the game in the designated away area and tickets will be sold in advance. You’d imagine the tickets would go on general sale or Clarets number required only to shift them with less than a week to go.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
I've spent the last week or so trying to find decent (for me) priced flights. I've looked at long stopovers, flying to different cities in Turkey, even flying to Sofia and getting a coach over the border from Bulgaria. It's all expensive. Any other time of year and flights to pretty much everywhere are cheap with a bit of planning. August innit. I'm gunna keep trying but I don't think I'll make it.

On holiday in Lesbos next week, 230 miles from Istanbul. If 10,000 Syrian refugees can make it from Turkey in rubber dinghys then I’m damned sure I can somehow find my way there for kick off.
Get that car hire sorted Mick.

Highly doubt they will change the legs around. UEFA stipulates the clubs have to be 31km apart and I’m sure the team we are playing are 35km away from Besiktas so it’s like Man City and Liverpool playing on the same night.clarethomer wrote:Ticket details to be announced Friday.. 24 kilometres from Besiktas to Basaksehir, if that means anything.1989_claret wrote:Highly doubt they will change the legs around.
