Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Just a bit of a roll call to understand what demand might be like if we manage to beat Aberdeen, which itself won’t be an easy game.
So who is definitely going - already booked hotel etc? Who is waiting to see if the club/supporters clubs put some package on? Who is waiting to see if their mates are going to get a small group together? Who definitely isn’t going - cost, time of work etc?
I’m in the unsure camp at the moment. Waiting to see if a few mates are going (getting time of work), and also whether we can get reasonably priced flights. I can’t see accessing a ticket being a problem for this game for Burnley or Aberdeen fans as the ground is decent sized and their home crowds are small.

I've heard it's 2.1 million points needed or a pack of 4 twix.

I’ve arranged my annual holiday in Turkey around it so I’ll definitely be there.
Given how far it is and the likely cost of getting there if you’re not already in Turkey, I would have thought anyone who wants a ticket will be able to get one.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Their new stadium holds 17,500 and they get gates of 3-5,000, so I suspect we can get a decent allocation. Maybe I’ll misjudge it, but I can’t see us taking more than a few hundred which, based upon flight costs, work notice, mid-holiday period and distance, would be good anyway.cutsy123 wrote:10000 points might get you a ticket
It would be madness to start points requirement any more than 5,000 given the notice, and even then they need to be careful as it might put people off.
Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Accy Clarets won't be organising anything. I made enquiries with 2 companies regarding a charter flight and prices per person were working out at around £800/£1000! They also needed minimum numbers to make it viable.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Far too costly for me I'm afraid. Looked at options yesterday and I can't justify paying that sort of money.
Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
1. We have to beat Aberdeen first which won't be easy based on the last game and our injuries.
2. We don't know which date it's on yet so doesn't leave a lot of time.
3. Direct flights are very expensive.

If a package is put on then definitely.
If not, it’s more difficult but I’d be tempted. Very tempted

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
If it was up to me I'd be giving any that do go, at least a 1000 loyalty points and automatically first refusal on tickets for the next game should we get through.
That's the least they'd deserve IMO.
Taking all things into account, going there you really are going above and beyond, and deserve rewarding for that loyalty/commitment accordingly.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Possibly depending on getting time off work! It's 50/50
Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Why on earth would you do that? Majority certainly wont be able to afford it / get it off work at short notice. Not much to do with loyalty,MACCA wrote:If it was up to me I'd be giving any that do go, at least a 1000 loyalty points and automatically first refusal on tickets for the next game should we get through.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
That's why I would reward them. Their loyalty and commitment has gone above and beyond anything we've had to do before.Eyres_11 wrote:Why on earth would you do that? Majority certainly wont be able to afford it / get it off work at short notice. Not much to do with loyalty,
Finding a way to get there by hook or by crook in my eyes warrants appreciating IMO.
Having never missed out on a ticket before, if I did do, to reward someone who's gone to Istanbul, I would have no problem what so ever, regardless of their current points situation.
Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
My point is if money wasnt an issue and short notice holidays were ok then I would be there - with this being impossible it doesnt make me any less 'loyal' certainly don't think they should get the eqivlent of 2 season tickets and 30 away games.

You would be rewarding people who can afford it then rather then. I'd love to go but I know it is something I just can't justify given how much it will cost.MACCA wrote:If it was up to me I'd be giving any that do go, at least a 1000 loyalty points and automatically first refusal on tickets for the next game should we get through.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
I can afford it, however work and family commitments means I can't go.ClaretTony wrote:You would be rewarding people who can afford it then rather then. I'd love to go but I know it is something I just can't justify given how much it will cost.
I'll be at the next Europa game should there be one no matter where it is, as I've booked it off work and kept my diary free.
This one just came too soon after the last for me, and it's my daughter's birthday.
If the fixtures were reversed, I'd have probably been able to go.
Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Thats fair enough. You have commitments that come before football, nothing wrong with that.
My point was just that just because someone has that disposable income and is able to get it off work doesnt warrant 1,000 loyalty points...maybe 20/30 yes.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
Im very tempted. Just had a look now and found flights for £371. No hotel required either due to flight times. A quick in and out job is required to fit around my job.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
The extra loyalty points is a nice idea. but ultinately travelling abroad to an away gamr is not really that beneficial to the club.
An incentive around fans who attend every home and away qualifier may be worth implementing.
We should absoluteoy be selling out this thursday. Looks like we wont.

We have moved seats for this game to get a group of 8 together, I will leave a little present for the ST holder who has vacated his seat for this game.cricketfieldclarets wrote:We should absoluteoy be selling out this thursday. Looks like we wont.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
We have got it down to around £450 for 3 days including flights to Turkey, internal flight on the Thursday and hotel room in resort.
Not the cheapest but could well be last one we have.

About 12k apparently sold in the home stands, and sods law meant when I went down Monday, my usual seats had already gone.cricketfieldclarets wrote:

That was pre Monday, so hopefully a few waited for payday.
I hope there isn't a large amount of seats visable all over the stadium, which on the ground plan looks like there is currently.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
You do have to wonder where all those who claimed last season we need a bigger ground due to having no decent seats available or 2 seats together have gone.
A european home game, sit in the best seats in the ground, cheaper than a league game and they still can't find the ground. Maybe it is the appeal of moaning on a forum about transfer windows that is stopping them attending.

Probably not unless the club manages to put together some affordable packages (Not likely)
£500 flights are out of my price range.

Plenty of options from Manchester to Istanbul with changes, price between 300 and 400 which is rather pricy! Depends how you value it and what you can afford. For me it is a once in a lifetime thing and hopefully will be there!

Can people put up the flights that are less than £400, it's hard enough finding direct flights, never mind under £600.

Re: Who’s going to Istanbul IF we beat Aberdeen?
I checked skyscanner. Fly out date 9th, fly back 10th. I have to be back by 3pm friday. £380ish. A few different options. **** flight connections though.Quickenthetempo wrote:Can people put up the flights that are less than £400, it's hard enough finding direct flights, never mind under £600.

The best ones seem to be from Amsterdam but everything coming up too dear.
In and out on the day isn't for me I'm afraid 12 hours flying is a lot in one day.

Like I said earlier I have to do a quick in n out job. If you’ve a few more days they’ll be more options.

The cheapest options seem to be on sites like Last Minute.com if you have a couple of days spare. There seem to be flights, incl. room for £500 or less.

I'd love to go but no chance of getting time off work next week unfortunately. It's even more gutting because I think there's a good chance the Turks will knock us out and that's that!
