Nowhere near a sell-out. Looks like they can't give them away!

About a thousand sold in the last couple of days I think.Leisure wrote:Nowhere near a sell-out. Looks like they can't give them away!
Family stand never buy tickets as they have free ST tickets or extremely cheap ones and don't like paying full ticket price. Same with every cup game.
Re: Tickets for sale for Thursday
Never mind, worth a try
Re: Tickets for sale for Thursday
It maybe worth the club looking into making more away tickets available in future.
As for the FA cup we need to give 15% 9f the capacity, and then nights like Thursday as well as other cup ties, we may as well let the away team have 4k.
There's only 500 left in the JHU and CFS combined, however the rest of the ground is very sparce, may as well have closed either JML OR JMU, or given extra to Aberdeen.
Be interesting to know what the TV revenue was, as I think, it's took at least 100-150k off the matchday income.

Re: Tickets for sale for Thursday
Very disappointing sales seeing as this is our first home game in a European competition for 50 years. Another reason for the club not even considering increasing the capacity of the ground!

Re: Tickets for sale for Thursday
I have said before, im taking my kids (6 and 4) on for their first midweek match, obviously helps being Europa, but having bought a family of 4 tickets plus the usual other expenses wont see much change out of a ton. We go away in a couple of weeks and could have used the cash for that. I can't help but feeling lower ticket prices with it being on BT would have more sense. Tenner an adult fiver a child? Or even £20 and £10, its a fair whack when its on BT. With no disrespect at all to Aberdeen, its not exactly like Athletico are in town.
Re: Tickets for sale for Thursday
I take it aberdeen sold their allowance immediatly?
Re: Tickets for sale for Thursday
I may be wrong but I think that ticket prices had been decided before it was announced that it was going to be on TV. Anyway, hope your kids enjoy their first experience of European football and hope that it's the first of many! Just put my counting OCD to good use - the JHU, JHL, CFS & BL have a total of 1,568 tickets remaining. JMU & JML looks to be substantially more than that, and even I can't be bothered to count them!

15k isn't so bad.
Over the last 20 years we have steadily grown fans that turn up for home games especially in the premier league.
We used to have the 11k fans who were die hards and turned up for most games. Same with away fans. We haven't improved numbers since the 4th division days.
Just the way it is.

Then more fool us. It's Burnley, playing European football, on the back of finishing 7th in the PL in today's climate of big spending opposition.Barry_Chuckle wrote:Massive game for those North of the border, a bit Meh for us I'm afraid.
It's a massive game for us and I can't believe (given how many were singing about going on a European tour towards the end of last season) that people aren't getting more up for this game, irrespective of who the opposition is

Let's face it this game is only a big deal to the 10/11 thousand diehards who've sat through all the rubbish in the 80s and 90s. The fans who buy season tickets cos they want to see United, Liverpool etc couldn't care less about playing Aberdeen at home.

That's a bit sad to hear, firstly since it's your first European home again in 50 years or so and secondly because it was such a cracking atmosphere last week with a full house for the 1st leg.Barry_Chuckle wrote:Massive game for those North of the border, a bit Meh for us I'm afraid.

£25 is just too much for a lot of folk, was going to take the wife, but it would have cost me over £70 with transport and maybe 2 pints.
Will watch it in the pub without having any guilt.

Don't worry pal will still be a decent atmosphere. Often find it's better anyway with just the hard-core there, both home and anyway. Shame it won't be sell out, not that I give a flying monkeys f.uck as I won't be there.
On another completely unrelated note...I was in our club shop at Pittodrie today sorting out things for our bigger game on Sunday and they're selling Burnley scarves.
WTF Thought I !!!
I wonder if the 4x Gormless Burnley oafs I spotted last week wandering aimlessly around Aberdeen ever made it back down the road.
Probably not. More than likely to be standing at a junction somewhere waving at passing lorries.

^ Most certainly. I like Turkey, particularly the Side/ Belek/ Antalya area.
Have never been to Istanbul though, it looks a different kettle of fish.
There was a documentary on Tv recently exposing all the scam merchants enticing drunken lads into bars with the lure of beautiful women and cheap beer. Then fleecing them of huge amounts of cash for next to nothing with the threat of extreme violence if they didn't cough up.

Re: Tickets for sale for Thursday
Even dismissing the fact that it’s still holiday season, which like it or not always affects the crowds in July and August, the pricing is totally wrong for this fixture.
We should have followed the lead of Blackburn and Bolton for the European games and reduced prices to half normal league prices. When you add in the fact it’s live on TV then it was always going to be a struggle selling this one out.
At £15 & £5 (I think Blackburn had some £5 ADULT games and struggled getting 14,000 on?!) then it would have sold out no doubt. Blackburn’s first ever game in Europe enticed 13,700 on, and that was when Walker was splashing the cash, the season they bought the title.
Someone mentioned that the family stand don’t buy for these kind of fixtures; parents often don’t take their smaller children to mid week games, and with t being on TV too I can understand them not buying.

I thought we might have seen a crowd of over 17,000, which would have been good, but now I’m thinking closer to 15,000.
I have a feeling there’ll be some Aberdonians in the home ends.

No disrespect to Bolton and Blackburn and Burnley and Bradford and Barnsley and Bournemouth and Brighton but they're not exactly crowd pullers historically.
They are all perfect examples of the saying "Every dog has it's day"
Your day was last season finishing 7th in the most exciting league in the Universe.
Like the rest of the B's mentioned above, you'll fade into obscurity soon enough when even getting half a full house will be an achievement.
