Re: Turf moor pies!
Pies on the match should be a simple, impossible to **** up, cheap treat. But they are usually burnt on the outside, molten lava on the inside and about £3!
Was a matchday tradition as a kid. Absolutely loved a potatoe pie on the match. But havent had one in years. Nephews have one almost every game though and love them as much as I used to.
Cant help but feel they are definitely crapper nowadays though. Just have it as pre match tea on nightgames now!
I think we are missing the trick with catering. But while people pay it they will continue to serve crap!

It’s shocking, I went down on Thursday just before half time and they’d run out. I understand how business works but surely a few hundred unsold pies won’t break the bank. My favourite place for pies by a mile is Brighton, steak and ale

Forget Brighton. Go to Craven Cottage. Best food at football in my humble fat opinion.

Cricketfield didn’t have steak pies before the match today!
Re: Turf moor pies!
Heads need to roll! If we can't even sort out ordering enough pies then whoever is incharge of catering needs replacing!

Re: Turf moor pies!
The only one thing a pie is fit for at a football match is for throwing at the referee
Don't know how anyone can eat that crap. I shall stick to coffee and twix

When the club got the pies from that bakery, they should have stuck with them. Or, just get 1 from Haffners, a million times better than the Holland's ones.

The problem is when they started supplying, Hollands gave the club a load of ovens to win the contract back.

I'm burnley born and almost bred ...have I missed something? I don't think I've knowingly had a hafners pie ..a million times better is pretty impressive. Could help with the heart burn maybe.Murger wrote:When the club got the pies from that bakery, they should have stuck with them. Have people lost their mittens, so the club are taking the necessary action?
