That’s is the rumour anyway.

I'm happy with this if it comes off, a good keeper that is lacking confidence and form but he's way better than Lindegaard and Ledgzins.

Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
Lindegaard not done anything wrong really so far. Only beaten by a penalty and a wonder goal. Will be interesting to see who is registered in the 25 man squad should Hart sign. Will tell us how bad Tom's injury is assuming he is still here.
Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
It’s perhaps one that will tell us more in January, or whenever Pope is back fit.
Assuming he is fit, I expect Tom to be first choice and it’s up to Hart to take his place. From Limdegaard’s perspective, for the short term at least, there is no change, he presumably remains as third choice.

Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
Hard to see Tom leaving this window as he has not been able to show he is OK from his shoulder injury. It would be a big gamble for anyone to take him permanently. We may lose a keeper in January and then it could be Tom BUT will we have been able to show that Nick Pope had fully recovered from injury? I think we will name Tom, Hart and Lindegaard as our three keepers this week. The fun will start in January.Goobs wrote:Lindegaard not done anything wrong really so far. Heaton was out practicing 3 hours before the espanyol game which was weird.

Pope is out for 3 months, so they say. 25 man squad can be re-assigned then. So it’s Heaton, Hart & Lindegaard until Jan.Goobs wrote:Lindegaard not done anything wrong really so far. Good to read, above, that Tom was out training yesterday. A sign he’s getting there.

Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
With that you would assume therefore that Tom has 4 months to show what he can do and earn himself a move in January as I can't see any of him, Pope or Hart staying and being happy being number 3 and not even being in the squad every week.
Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
I think it's pretty clear what we're trying to do here. Hart for £4m could be an unbelievable signing. He was City no.1 until Pep took over, then he was Torino no.1 for a season and did ok. He was still England no.1 at this time. Last season was a disaster but is that all down to Joe Hart? He was at a club in disarray. He had a stinker against us but I'd suggest there was a lot of pressure on him before kick off and more than a hostile crowd to deal with.
Get him behind our back four and see how he fairs. He's potentially got 4 or 5 really good years left in him and if we can get his confidence back he'll be a huge asset. He's won 2 PL titles, 2 League Cups and 1 FA Cup. Not bad for starters. Add in 75 caps and 4 PL golden glove awards and it really gets tasty. Give him a chance is all I'll say.
We could also end up selling Heaton or Pope for far more money than we've paid for Hart. This really could be an inspired bit of business if you ask me.

We are lucky that City want rid as it seems the £4million is the difference between what we are prepared to pay in wages this season compared with Hart's salary at City this season and he is OOC in 2019. The pay cut comes I suspect in years 2 and 3 of his apparent 3 year deal and we have add ons no doubt related to any later transfer fee, appearances and league position, more than likely survival this and subsequent seasons.
Does represent a way of getting around any salary problems for incomings still under contract elsewhere.

Surely this deal can't be sustained for more than 6 months, with Man City picking up the wages until then.
This would see us through the injury crisis and a decision will be made in the Jan window on who stays and who goes. £4m for 6 months must be the deal - - Hart is at least worth double that and a bit more at today's rates.
Stop-gap, short-term emergency signing. Hart doesn't have to fully commit to Burnley and visa-versa and he gets regular playing time to put himself in the window for a permanent move in January.
That's how I read it.
Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
I assumed that his wages are being subsidised for this season, a golden handshake if you will from City.
After this I assume he falls in line with our salary cap.

Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
For someone who was reported to be having a medical on Friday it does seem strange that things have gone so quiet, unless a problem similar to Charlie Austin has been found or is pending.

Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
The cynic in me says Hart has already had maximum publicity out of this "shock" move.
It's a good way of inviting the best offers and timing is everything. He knows that BFC want him urgently and will give him game time but so might someone else in the final days of the window !!.

Wonder if he is stalling in case Chelsea come in for him or Everton if Pickford leaves?

Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
Well it is looking a tad dodgy given what was said on Friday and what has happened since.
Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
Making me nervous too. What seems to happen is the press get wind of a signing for us, we spend our time getting it over the line, then someone comes in and hijacks it. Hopefully not the case here as I think he would be a good match for us.

Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
Would guess it is more to do with the package he is getting off Man City as a severance package rather than what we have done.
Would be delighted if it got over the line as I think like many others that Mercer and Dyche will get him back to the level he was performing at 2/3 years ago. That is more my belief in the talents of Mercer and SD. If we didnt get it over the line I will not lose any sleep as I still think with the way our defence operates and closes down the angles that Lindegaard will be protected enough and as proven in the last 2 games is not a bad shot stopper. The only worry I have with him is how poor we looked at corners and set pieces. This may or may not be his fault but I did feel he was not to vocal and commanding of his area in these situations

I'm guessing it is more likely related to image rights from Joe Hart (unless we have been gazumped).

Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
Lindegaard is nowhere near the quality of goalkeeper required to play at Premier league level. We're not playing the likes of Aberdeen every week and good defensive players that we have would be severely tested far too often knowing what was their last line of defence. Arguably the most important position on the field cannot be relied on with a 30 odd year old cast off.Cleveleys_claret wrote:Would guess it is more to do with the package he is getting off Man City as a severance package rather than what we have done.

Shows how much rubbish/fake news does the round. The medical is usually the last step isn't it unless the player has a bad injury track record?

Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
We have seen him in 2 games. Regardless of opposition he did what was needed in each game as regards shot stopping. Only getting beat by a penalty and a worldie. Not saying I dont want Hart but if we dont get it over the line I cant seeing it being a massive issue. None of us know what is going on with Heaton and come Thu/ Sun he may be ready to play. We dont know.Silkyskills1 wrote:Lindegaard is nowhere near the quality of goalkeeper required to play at Premier league level. Re: Joe Hart incoming ?
Saw this on sky transfer centre!!
Sky sources understand Chelsea have made Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland their top target if Thibaut Coutois leaves the club.
The Blues have switched their attention to the Stoke goalkeeper after Everton refused to negotiate over Jordan Pickford and Sky Sports News has been told there has already been informal contact between Chelsea and Stoke City at boardroom level.
It is understood the Potters would be prepared to allow Butland to leave for around £30m - but want any deal for the England goalkeeper to be resolved quickly, so that they would have time to buy a replacement.
The closer the negotiations go to 5pm on Thursday, the more likely it is that Stoke will demand a bigger fee, Sky Sports News understands.

Looks a great signing if it goes through, 31 year old, former World Class keeper, he should be in his prime. Pep knocked all confidence out of him when he loaned him out off the back of a poor Euros, Hart needs a settled club to knuckle down, I'm confident he'll be our best keeper very soon.

Pep knocked his confidence yes but he was never a world class keeper. However with a brick wall of mee tarks and gibson in front of him we will keep him covered let's just hope he can catch a ball when needs be.KRBFC wrote:Looks a great signing if it goes through, 31 year old, former World Class keeper, he should be in his prime. ''world class'' is a debatable thing but he was a top quality goalkeeper at City, his career has nosedived since that poor Euros.CFS wrote:Pep knocked his confidence yes but he was never a world class keeper.
