So no potential for those fans who are not season ticket holders to get a ticket?

As posted on another thread, it’s a good job the flights I booked from Brisbane are fully refundable then...not making that journey without a ticket.

Hope the tickets sell out or the decision will be even more frustrating.

I’ve got 1,750 points despite living in Australia for almost ten years so whilst I understand our club wanting to control sales with all the UEFA rules about knowing who’s there but to only put on sale to current season ticket holders is a really disappointing decision for them to make

Not at all disappointing unless someone is a non-season ticket holder. St holders should have priority.

Good to see the club alienating fans who for whatever reason can't get a season ticket.

I'd be surprised if we managed to shift all our tickets given the time, cost and distance involved so i can't understand why fans with no season ticket but with Claret Numbers are not allowed to get a ticket

No-one has ever said season ticket holders shouldn't have priority. Point being that if there are tickets unsold, they'll remain entirely that rather than allowing other people - people who might actually be in Istanbul - the opportunity to use them. That's the point.

Agree but due to the short timescale for selling the tickets it makes it nigh impossible to extend categories to non-season tickets holders without severely restricting the season ticket holders period.

Agree 100% season ticket holders should have priority. Also agree unlike a lot of others on here with the point system and need for a Clarets Number - it’s not perfect but there needs to be something.

If we sell out the full allocation I suppose it will be justified but yeah disappointing at this stage that they’ll send tickets back rather than go on sale to non season ticket holders.

I disagree, but hey. Shrink it slightly more, give non-season tickets one day at the end if there are tickets available. It's very possible. If there's even one ticket left unsold by Tuesday then it's a disgraceful decision, it really is. Furthermore, at only £5 a pop, season ticket holders may buy a ticket anyway and end up not travelling. Which of course is their right but it's just a farce. Chance in a lifetime, one which I've stretched my budget to experience and my club decide - for no stated reason - to block fans from attending.

It could've been possible to offer a general sale option on Tuesday if tickets were remaining, which there very possibly could be.

It really is disgraceful that the club would rather send tickets back than let registered supporters attend. Of course season ticket holders should get priority but there will be a low take up for this match. If people live away from Burnley a season ticket isn't financially viable for most people with the number of Monday and mid week fixtures.

The club qualify for Europe for the first time in most folks lifetime, and the further we go in the competition, the less logical (Perhaps UEFA red tape at times) the decisions being made, make sense.
Aberdeen - no tickets for Share holders and Foundation members

Istanbul - no tickets for Share holders, Foundation members and now none ST holders

That's rubbish, those who are going will know now if they want tickets, it's not like people are going to make a last minute decision.... Season ticket holders get the weekend, then open up to those with enough points

Exactly. If you're wanting to go then it's likely you'll have already booked your flights days ago. Few flights are under £500 and going up all the time. With respect, I don't imagine many in Burnley (or anywhere) have that kind of disposable income to make a last minute decision.

Surely if you don't have disposable income you wouldn't book flights to Istanbul without knowing if Burnley were even playing there.

Seems like a poor decision from the club to not allow non-season ticket holders to obtain tickets. I can only assume that the club are concerned about Uefa's sanctions should there be trouble from the Burnley fans. Considering the cost of travel I doubt this fixture would be likely to attract the bad eggs though.

I’d already booked Thursday/Friday off work before the draw had been made, as it’s our anniversary next weekend.

When the draw was made I looked into the flight prices straight away and they were coming up at around £180, but as it wasn’t confirmed when it would be played or even if it would be us playing, i didn’t book

I’ll have to wait until later rounds to see us “in Europe”

Absolutely. Well for a game at old trafford or anfield or ibrox or the nou camp or you get the drift

But for a game that (a quick search by the club) costs £400 to get there the decision is ridiculous.

Yes im disappointed. Id be extremely disappointed if we draw Milan and I cant get a ticket. But theres no way we’ll sell our tickets. They’ll be sending loads back whilst some fans are willing to pay what it costs to get there. But cant go.

I have bought mine. Have given my travel options but may flexibly change them to take family out somewhere either side then hop to Istanbul for a day. Makes it more affordable if the family holiday would happen at some point anyway. Flights £200 return to Ataturk from places like Malta and Athens.

I do think it bad though that people may have 8000 points, have a claret number, cancelled their season ticket (e.g. due to a temporary work relocation) and cannot join the European Tour even after STH have had their chance. I also think there is potential for people to buy a £5 ticket just in case then choose to sack it off if they can’t find a cheap flight, leaving the away end half empty.

Yes, i agree to a certain extent with what you're saying. Only time will tell if we sell all our tickets or not (unfortrunately the club don't have a crystal ball to tell them just what the demand will be). But with the very short selling period, if they had opened it up to non-season ticket holders at what point in the process would you say that should be, to have ensured that ST holders had sufficient time to purchase their tickets?

On what basis have you made that statement? I know quite a few ST holders that now they know the ticketing arrangements they are starting to look for means of getting there but don't want to purchase a ticket until they know that they can get there. Only allowing them the weekend is cutting it pretty tight. Just my opinion of course, as is the weekend being long enough just your opinion!

There’s always a way if you have a season ticket. Not sure you are getting the point about why people are miffed. I’ve paid over 2 grand into the foundation for 20 years for just this type of situation. Apologies for living down south for work and not buying a season ticket for my half dozen home games a season...

To say nothing of the fact that the club sold and still sell the foundation key benefit as ‘guaranteed priority access to tickets.....’

For home matches!

What have they done to prove their away loyalty?

(Obviously loads will have that record too, however, many only have their bum sat at Turf Moor)

I've been KFC checked and passed with flying colours. Not sure what the other is.

That works both ways. What has someone with no season ticket done to prove away loyalty? Or home loyalty for that matter?

There has to be a system, no one seems to be coming up with a better one

You get 10 points for a home or away match attendance. They would therefore be able to demonstrate their away loyalty easily.

Id say Monday, General Sale. If they do sell out then it is the correct thing to do. I just cant see it doing and it’ll be frustrating send tickets back when there are countless people like me.
