Sharing a taxi from the airport on Thursday
Anyone else arriving into Sabiha Gokcen airport on Thursday morning and want to share a taxi into the city?
Looks like getting a taxi will be easiest & quickest way of getting into the centre from there and will cost about £30 to £40. (Unless anyone has a better idea and can let me know.)
I'm arriving in the early hours of Thursday and staying in a hotel at the airport, so would be flexible about what time to set off. Although I don't want to hang about too long obviously. Anyway, let me know if anyone fancies it. Cheers

Think I'll probably set off a bit sooner than that, but thanks anyway Trawden.

Surely the metro will be the quickest, easiest and cheapest route?

Re: Sharing a taxi from the airport on Thursday
Thanks for the prompt scouseclaret. I'm now going to get the Havabus Airport Shuttle instead, which looks like it goes straight to Takim Square, for about £2!
MyRightFront - I'll be heading back to the airport after the game, but quite fancy a beer in Takim Square afterwards, if possible. Looks like pre-ordering a private shuttle (taxi) is the best bet, as you pay a fixed price of about £30. Do you fancy doing that and we can share the taxi back about 12am to 1am ish? I don't mind booking the taxi.

Cowlingclaret- we were going to determine it on what time we got off the ground.. just googled the shuttle and there's one back to the airport from outside a hotel in takim at 01:00am (this is the last one) Alrnatively we could always taxi it if needs be like you said.
Re: Sharing a taxi from the airport on Thursday
For Ataturk Airport that is true. But the metro line to Sabiha Gokcen Airport is still under construction. The nearest Metro station to Sabiha Gökçen Airport is Tavsantepe. it is about 8 miles away from airport. (costs ~ 8£-10£ by taxi)scouseclaret wrote:Surely the metro will be the quickest, easiest and cheapest route?

Great, thanks MyRightFoot. I didn't know what time the shuttle ran until. That should be late enough for me, but happy to share a taxi back if necessary.
Not being a user of message boards much, how do we contact each other? Do I post a mobile number or email address on here, or is there another way?!!
Cheers

Re: Sharing a taxi from the airport on Thursday
Hello all,
We are contacting to you with regards to your land arrangements needs, especiallyairport transfers & shuttle bus transfer to/from Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium for the game on 09 August 2018, Thursday. We are The DMC Istanbul, specialized in hosting football teams and related parties in Turkey for the international tournament games. Sorry if some of them are real rivals for you, in past we handled many supporters groups from the UK, Liverpool (1000 supporters) back in 2005 for the CL final, Leeds United, Tottenham, Bolton, Man United, Chelsea, St Johnstone.... If you look at our website http://www.thedmcistanbul.com/sports-tr ... ement.html you can see more details about our services.
Basaksehir stadium is far off city centre, such as Taksim square or Sultanahmet (old town) areas are within 30/35 kms distance. The kick off is at 21:45 so at the end of the game, public transportation from that area to city centre will not be an option. Considering the number of Burnley fans coming to the game, amount of taxis - sorry to say this but most of them will be asking more than taximeters' charge as it happens in every metropols - may not be enough at that time of the day.
As a travel agent, and we have dealt similar occasions in past, we would like to offer you city center - stadium - city center bus transfer services. If you want to book any services through us, please contact at thedmc@thedmcistanbul.com or on mobile 00905337085197
Wish you safe travel to Istanbul and good luck for the game, and please do not hesitate to contact us for any further information.
Kind Regards,
Sinan Erkul
