Adama Traore

This fast and tricky Middlesbrough winger has a buyout clause of £18m to be paid upfront. wolves have offered 10 million upfront and £12 million in instalments over the length of any contact offered making a total of 22 million. Do you think this would be a good signing for us at 18 million and move in on the deal.

Classic example of a player who looks a world beater until he gets into the final third. His decision making and final ball are usually terrible.

He’ll go to Wolves.

Antonio at West Ham should be the winger we are in for. Somehow think we will be and he will sign before deadline day

£18m for Traore would be terrible value even in today's market.

Can't quite understand us talking about players the club have shown no interest in personally. It's like the NewsNow articles that go along the lines of 'players a club should invest in'. where the article talks about how good a buy a player would be for a club when no interest whatsoever has been shown by that club.

All a bit pointless.

As mentioned above, this lad is rapid and tricky however has no end product whatsoever.

No, no and no again. Next.

He's absolutely awful. £18m is daylight robbery.

I'd love it if this was true, but I can't see it happening. Just seems a bit out of the blue, can't think of where we've ever been linked to him

We were linked early on in window. West Ham seemed to be getting players in before letting others leave like most other clubs. Just have a feeling we will end up with him on transfer deadline day. West Ham the amount they have spent need to offload 2 or 3 wages before the end of the window. I can see him, Snodgrass, byram, hugill and Oxford all being available and possinly moving whether on loan or permanently

As a Boro fan, the second half of last season he was unreal, unplayable. Never seen a player as exciting as him since Juninho at the club. He is only 22, he will go onto much better things. I wish him well, he is far too good for the championship. His end product is improving. I think a few people will be surprised. 22m will turn out to be very good value for wolves.

I had heard that he had improved considerably in the second half of last season with his decision making and end product

And he always had lightning speed so maybe he would have been a good buy for us but probably too late now

Worth it for me. People saying he has no end product have absolutely zero clue  10 assists last season. Frighteningly good player

I remember the season us and Boro went up. Karanka would have him switching wings at half time so he could coach him in play for the full 90 minutes.
I'd have him at Burnley in a shot. Still very raw but has loads of potential

At 22m he has a decent pedigree already. Plenty of potential and years ahead of him.

Player of the year last year for Middlesbrough and has already played a good amount of games.

I'd have liked us to look at him.

Nixon saying we’re in for Bolasie now. Adama also a 1v1 player and a better one of that... I guess wolves can offer more in wages tho

Available for either a loan or permanent transfer this summer according to today's press. If dyche could sort his crossing out there would be some player there.

If there's a player in there, Dyche will find it.
Would definitely give us pace.

It’s a yes from me. Sort of player I love to have on the halfway line when 1-0 up and holding on. Would make the opposition think twice about committing everyone forward. Games like Utd we invite the opposition to have an 11 man attack. He has the dribbling and pace to worry every defender in the league. Him on the right and McNeil on the left would be quite potent. Granted he should do better but Sean could well advise him to just keep it simple and our strikers are used to feeding in scraps.

100 percent would take him. Decent on the ball. Crossing can be hit and miss - but at least he gets into the positions! Quick. Strong. Direct. We lack all three of those.

No, no and no again.

The sort of player that UTC posters / some Burnley fans love just because he's fast regardless that he's crap and has no end product.

If the stats on Fantasy Football are to be believed, this season (league games): 28 appearances, 874 minutes in total; 1 assist, 1 goal.
A lot of the times he's played, he came on as a sub for the last 15 mins or less, of the times he started - he was subbed off every time, never played 90 minutes.
At Wolves, he's a fair way down the pecking order (stiffish competition there in truth) and, if they splash the cash again, he could fall further behind so no surprise he might be "moved on".
I suspect he'll be Championship -bound and will do pretty well there. Speedy/tricky wingers do get better re decision-making/crossing as they get older so at 23 yo, there's still time for him to improve whilst maintaining his strength/speed.

The unofficial reported fee on joining Wolves was £18 million and I guess they'll want at least that for a transfer. Can't see us flashing that much cash on a gamble like this would be.

Actually thought he delivered a few decent crosses when he played at the Turf. He’s clearly erratic though and I can’t see him being in Dyche’s thoughts.

He was on silly money at Villa.
Would've been on silly money at Boro and will be on silly money at Wolves.

No thanks.

There would be some benefit to having a player like Traore in the squad.

Certainly away from home, when we’re under the cosh, he would provide us with an outlet, draw a foul, and help to relieve pressure. Much like Zaha, he would help drag the team up the pitch, which is something we desperately need.

Saying all that, I don’t think he would offer us value for money unless his end product improved dramatically. There are cheaper options out there.

Big no from me also looks great until you need him to deliver a cross, we need to be looking abroad for value, good to be someone out there in our price range. We still desperately need a right winger with a right foot! Someone that has more than one good game in 40.

If we bought/loaned him then we'd have to revert to playing a 4-5-1/4-3-3 to accommodate him. Then we'd have to buy a second player who is comfortable playing the number ten role and we still wouldn't have solved to massive issue we have with the central midfield.

There’s as much chance of me being in the starting eleven for next season than Traore. If anyone ever asked “what’s the complete opposite to a Dyche player?”, it’s this lad. At times he looks like a world beater until he actually has to do something meaningful.

No. The other thing about somebody like this is that he's only ever one injury from being permanently not much use. All he's got is pace. Take even a little bit off that and what have you got? A winger who doesn't cross very well.

I'd try him straight through the middle, because crossing is obviously not his forte!

A bit like Steve Kindon.
