Posting possible deals
Can people post clubs intersted and players names when starting threads. Just seem like so many posters are trying to hoodwink fans into thinking we may be after a player. Mama Diouf to Leicester for 15m!!!! Would be much better. Not just this post but many others

Re: Posting possible deals
You're not the first to post this. Not something that can be made a rule but it does help. I'm as guilty as others with misleading titles at times.Cleveleys_claret wrote:Can people post clubs intersted and players names when starting threads. Re: Posting possible deals
I saw the thread title and thought we had some possible deals lined up.
Very disappointing.

And you’re a fanny. In a summer where it seems some in here have been in a competition to see who is the Biggest Fanny, you really have left with the Winner’s Rosette.Cleveleys_claret wrote:Ooohhhhh you're hard

Re: Posting possible deals
I post on a marketing forum, and we tend to use square brackets to make it obvious. An example on here would be [rumour]
However, that does involve engaging brain, so not sure it would work for some.

Re: Posting possible deals
How so? Its a simple request which would make reading threads much easjer. Instead every time one gets posted the first 3 or 4 posts are " phew thought that we were going to sign him". Then they lose their way with others saying how stupid and misleading the thread title is. Its not being a fanny it would just make threads easier to identify and would stop a little of the tit for tatLord Beamish wrote:And you’re a fanny. Re: Posting possible deals
Same kinda thing with political topics, duplicate threads and those that are quick to resort to personal insults.
Stems from the fact that many users on the forum do not understand how a forum works. They don't know forum etiquette, don't follow rules and are lazy.
You can't even search the forum for a player thread now because every time someone has something to say about a player they just make a new topic entitled the players name without searching first.
There's probably about 50 different Dean Marney threads.
Looking at other football forums some things would clear stuff up, moving off topic to a different section would be one.
Then having match day and players threads. Transfer threads too.
Someone suggested we kept one thread for Burnley transfer news but whenever someone reads something there's a bunch of the same topics made on the same subject.
I know Tony was looking for more moderators and I moderate on another popular forum and I can say whoever picks up the job really is in for a tough time.
I'd suggest Tony and major contributors discuss and publish a set of rules that they can abide too and speculation threads/other club transfers could be one of them.

Re: Posting possible deals
Any reason why this is allowed? I'd love to know how it's deemed acceptable to call someone a fanny but I got banned for a week for calling someone a tw4t in retaliation.....Lord Beamish wrote:Fanny.

I saw this earlier and assumed he was calling him a fanny as they know each other and in a joking fashion, also judged by the response. My interpretation of you calling someone a **** last time was purely to insult someone and completely unnecessary.KRBFC wrote:Any reason why this is allowed? #OneRuleForKRBFC
Also, completely irrespective of how others act - doesn't give you an excuse to act that way does it.
Re: Posting possible deals
Hilarious how ''rules'' work, enforced when it favours the enforcer. Oh it appears i'm on a topic ban, my new topic instantly removed.... probably because it was positive about our transfer business

A bit of fanny on here might not be a bad thing...
Re: Posting possible deals
Calling someone a t*** is never necessary, and is inexcusable. Stop feeling victimised. Respect others on the board and you'll soon find you're respected back.KRBFC wrote:Hilarious how ''rules'' work, enforced when it favours the enforcer. Ah well

Just so you know no I dont know the user but took it that he is one of the posters that is in with the mods like Godisadeejay. They seem to be able to insult anybody without anything happening to them

Re: Posting possible deals
Christ if you think “t***” is inexcusable you should have a look at some of the uncensored boards out there like Stoke’s. Proper freedom of speech
Re: Posting possible deals
"in retaliation"
Re: Posting possible deals
This is an internet forum, it's moderated that way. Feel free to go to one of the uncensored boards if you'd rather, with that attitude you won't be missed.SGr wrote:Christ if you think “t***” is inexcusable you should have a look at some of the uncensored boards out there like Stoke’s. And there it is. The Internet forum equivalent of “if you don’t like it go and support some other club”whiffa wrote:This is an internet forum, it's moderated that way. Feel free to go to one of the uncensored boards if you'd rather, with that attitude you won't be missed.

Where does he say go and support another club? He was just saying there are lots of forums out there where vulgar terminology is acceptedSGr wrote:And there it is. The Internet forum equivalent of “if you don’t like it go and support some other club”

The mods probably thought that you were high on drugs with you posting something positive about the club
Hence the ban

Re: Posting possible deals
It's more the internet forum equivalent of the Little Red Hen story. Should the people who do all the work have the final say in what are the rules? Seems self-evident, really.SGr wrote:And there it is. The Internet forum equivalent of “if you don’t like it go and support some other club”

Re: Posting possible deals
KRBFC is spot on. There's a sticky at the top about personal insults, and yet Beamish seemingly is able to get away with it. And it was only last week that on a Beamish thread I had the audacity to suggest there is also diet soda as well as standard soda in a post relating to kids.
A clear double standard. May have to be self-imposed, but ban for Beamish please!!!
