Kepa Arrizabalaga joining Chelsea
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45106325 have to be honest i've never heard of this guy,but i don't follow La Liga that closely, would eclipse Liverpool's recent record for signing a keeper,i guess Courtois is off to Madrid, makes you wonder how much Heaton or Pope will command next summer if we decide to cash in.
Re: Kepa Arrizabalaga joining Chelsea
Fantastic keeper, I thought he was joining Madrid in January though for less than £20M, not sure how he's suddenly worth so much more.

He signed a new contract. This is his buyout.KRBFC wrote:Fantastic keeper, I thought he was joining Madrid in January though for less than £20M, not sure how he's suddenly worth so much more.

I wonder when we'll see the first 100 million pound goalie,De Gea would be possible i suppose.

Looks like they'll have to employ a rapper to sing his name.

How can 1 keeper with 4 golden gloves and 75 caps for his country be worth 4m yet another with 1 cap albeit for a more successful country be worth 72m. Their job is mainly to save goals. They may have to make 6-10 saves a game....more at the lower clubs than the top clubs which would surely mean the lower clubs would be paying more for their keepers than the top sides.
Just shows what unbelievable value we have got with not just Hart but Popey and Heats

Maybe because one is well past his best and one is an excellent keeper who's best years are ahead of hinCleveleys_claret wrote:How can 1 keeper with 4 golden gloves and 75 caps for his country be worth 4m yet another with 1 cap albeit for a more successful country be worth 72m. No but like baseball with the moneyball theory. We I think are loosely applying the same logic. Hart for money spent against shots saved and distribution will prove better value tha Kepa. There is no doubting we have got better value for money

Because one's more in demand than the other, it's no more complex than that.Cleveleys_claret wrote:How can 1 keeper with 4 golden gloves and 75 caps for his country be worth 4m yet another with 1 cap albeit for a more successful country be worth 72m.

Truthfully how many times have you seen Kepa play? Ifollow a lot of leagues and watch a lot of games. Kepa is not world class, maybe good but nowhere near the amount they are paying for him when compared to other keepers. They are losing a better keeper for half the money they are paying for Kepa.KellyClaret wrote:Maybe because one is well past his best and one is an excellent keeper who's best years are ahead of hin

Always have had a thing for Bilboa though. Find it amazing that in this era of football they still stand by their principles of recruiting only players from their region. Even the fans didnt mind getting relegated a few seasons ago as the club had stayed true to their principles.
