Re: Talk Sport
I liked his optimism that we will finish above Manchester United!
Thought they were pretty boisterous before he came on,but toned it down for the interview.

I agree Inchy, his podcast with Ian Wright is good value too if you haven’t listened to it already... ‘We’re not playing snooker’
Ian Wright talking about loosing his virginity in one of the episodes genuinely had me in stitches!

Re: Talk Sport
Right at the end, had to pick a club when they pushed me into saying we'd finish higher than last season. I could see miserable Mourinho's face in front of me when I said it.AotearoaClaret wrote:I liked his optimism that we will finish above Manchester United!
Nice for Robbie Blake to get a mention too from Saunders.

Good to listen to your article CT.
Interesting point Saunders brought up by Carbone joining Bradford killed the dressing room getting £42k vs the rest of the players getting £3k a week.

Re: Talk Sport
It's something some of our fans really don't understand, but one bad signing could kill the whole thing. If, and we only have speculation, Sam Clucas was trying push things too far then we were right to turn away from him, just as we were with Kamal Grosicki two years ago.SussexDon1inIreland wrote:Interesting point Saunders brought up by Carbone joining Bradford killed the dressing room getting £42k vs the rest of the players getting £3k a week.
Our chief exec Dave Baldwin is also the bloke who went in at Bradford City to finally start clearing up the Carbone etc. mess but by then they were in League Two. I know he wouldn't allow that to happen here. Saunders was spot on.

Couldn't agree more, but Saunders was funny as a guest. He made the show worth listening to. I still laugh just thinking about his Brian Clough tale.Wile E Coyote wrote:he did well, true enough, but those presenters are excrement, every single one of the condescending, rat shi**ng one of em' i hate them beyond words.

Well done, Tony. Calm, measured and informed - and all with that beautiful accent.

I never thought I'd hear myself saying this, but I really enjoy listening to ex Palace chairman Simon Jordan. He's been on various shows over the last couple of months.
I never used to like how he conducted himself in the public eye, his bleach blonde mop and perma tan taking centre stage.
However he does come across extremely well on the radio. He's knowledgeable about football and tactics and has an insight into how clubs are run and how transfers and agents work. He doesn't talk over guests and puts across his views and opinions, often backed up with facts and figures.

"They say it’s priceless but to be part of a team where everyone is pushing in the same direction is not as normal as you would expect it to be.
"I heard that was the vibe and I’ve come here first day, and you can just see it. It just stinks of it. Everyone wants to play for each other, everyone wants to win and everyone wants to do their best."
