Season ticket cards help

Post by 1914tyrone » Wed Aug 08, 2018 9:32 am

I have been informed I was to keep last years by a friend which I have not. I do not recall being told to keep in by email or announcement at the match?? Each year I received a new one in the past. Ticket office now want £25, which I refused to pay, they said speak to supervisors who are all away.
Anyone else had this??

Cheers

You won't have received a new one each year but they did change them 2(?) Years ago.

As far as I'm aware we've only had new cards once. The only reason you would have a card issued is if you were changing seats or age group.
They did tell people to keep their cards.

25 quid for a replacement seems excessive.

When the season cards were first introduced it was made clear that you should not discard it at the end of the season, you would have received that information with your card. We are going into year five now although all cards were changed 12 months ago. So you didn't receive a new one in either 2015 or 2016 unless you moved seat or changed category.

I'm not sure what else the club can do, they make it clear you should keep your card and they've also always confirmed there is an admin charge for a replacement card.

£25 sounds steep for an admin charge, though. It's only a bit of plastic, it's not as if there is any magnetic strip or security data on it - just a bar code.

You'd think they might as a generous gesture allow a first replacement card free? Only serial losers of cards need to pay because of nuisance value?

But that will probably cost you more than the £25.

There is an article on the official site that states
'lost, stolen or damaged cards will be replaced at a cost of £15." this article is dated 6th May 2018.

I am sure it was £10 prior to this.
Can you ask them when and why it has changed from £15 to £25 ?

When I received my season cards this year (new ST for me) the info said it was £15 for a replacement, I’m fairly certain of that - but I need to check

Thanks CT but I didn't have a ticket two years ago, and having been given a new for last season. It would make sense for them to do an email shot. Its the £25 that's bothering me!

They have to pay Joe Hart's wages somehow.

£25 for a replacement card, whatever the circumstances, is ludicrous.

The first game of last season mine would not work and I had to go to the ticket office five minutes before kick off and get a replacement which took around 30 seconds to produce with all my details on it and obviously didn't cost me a penny.

In that case it is £15 and not £25.

You say you didn’t have a ticket two seasons ago but in OP say you have had a new ticket each season??

As has been pointed out, there have only been 2 cards and it has always been said that the cards are to be kept unless new ones are provided following seat or category change.

Apologies CT I’ll expkain myself better!!
Had season tickets for 30 years, but missed 15/16 as I couldn’t get to matches. So I’ve had two new cards in two years!
The guy I spoke to at ticket office this morning told me £25

This link - under the title of YOUR TEAM CARD explains it:

WHAT IF I LOSE MY TEAMCARD?
If you lose your TeamCard please contact the Turf Moor Ticket Office as soon as possible who will deactivate your card so it cannot be used by anyone else. To then get a replacement TeamCard will cost £15.

So you didn’t have a season ticket in 2014-15 (when the cards first came out) or 2015-16?

The only reason you have received a “new” card each year is down to ”timings”

You got one in 2016-17, which was the final year of that card, then in 2017-18 you received a new one, as did everyone else, as it was a new designed card.
