Do you think players..
Know how much money their colleagues are on?
Just thinking then, do you think Pope or Heaton will think Hart has come in on more money, to effectively be a back up until proven?
He must still be on a decent wedge, given the over £100k at city

He will have fitted in with our wage structure - and is probably on less than the latest signing (Ben Mee)

The fee we paid City will be used to pay Joe Hart any lost earnings our wages are to him

There was mumblings over the weekend that Mee has a clause that says he's the highest paid defender.theroyaldyche wrote:More than Gibson has come in on, as a record signing?
Not saying its true, but could be the reason for the delay in Mee signing the extension

"Do you think players know how much money their colleagues are on?"
"He was on 120k a week at City"
I reckon they probably know, and if they don't they can find out pretty quickly.

Re: Do you think players..
They probably will. But players are not stupid. If you’ve a keeper with 75 caps for his country and a few winners medals and his experiance he’s going to pick up a decent wage. Pope has had 1 good season in the PL should he get paid more than Hart?

Re: Do you think players..
Yes he was. He was on 120k a week. Also when he went Torino and West Ham he was also on an additional as he contract stated if he was to go out on loan during his contract period he would be still entitled to the 55k image rights. So in effect in his 2 years out on loan he was earning 175k a week.Tall Paul wrote:He wasn't on over £100k at City.
Re: Do you think players..
yes am sure players will have a good idea on what others get, reports are that MC have paid Joe off for the remainder of his contract so that will supplement his pay to be on the most money, but not the most paid by BFC.
also play bonuses, clean sheet bonuses etc. will all add to final payment over 12 months, if he is not playing regularly once TH gets back then his bonuses will also be less.
not just a straight weekly wage like most mere mortals.
Also reports say SD on the largest salary, surprised but think it's right but wonder how many more clubs would have the manager on higher than any of the playing staff!!

I love how people make up their own facts and then blindly dig in when people who are actually correct point out they’re wrong. Such a great forum.

Re: Do you think players..
I have worked for years in an industry where people all get paid differently dependant on experience, ability and how well you negotiate at the interview (without a bloody agent) and rarely does anyone know what the others are on, so I would say no they probably don't because it's a 'what the bloody hell has it got to do with you' situation. I personally have never asked any colleague what they earn in nearly 30 years, even though I know some will be on more and some less and rarely have I ever been asked, and when I have I just say 'not enough'.
Some places I have worked have even had a clause that wages must never be discussed so maybe that's how it works at a football club. I can't imagine such conversations being tolerated by Sean either.

Joe Hart to earn £175k a week to play for West Ham… with Man City paying him £55k to leave.Tall Paul wrote:He wasn't on over £100k at City.

Manchester City ‘to pay £55,000-a-week towards Joe Hart’s £175,000 West Ham wages’
https://talksport.com/football/258013/m ... 718247082/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
An agreement, as the Daily Mail writes, is yet to be reached between the Hammers and City with the former proposing to pay a sum to sign him and his estimated £130,000-a-week wages shared between the parties.

3 separate sources suggesting Joe Hart was on more than 100k per week.

Don’t salaries come out at the AGM? Not individually but in bands and the players will have an idea who is in which band.

Lets face it, how many of us earn £30,000+ each week? Each player has negotiated their own package and I’m sure they must be fairly happy. Personally, I might be worried about not getting in the first team rather than how much extra a player earns.

Yep £4.5m per annum but it has got to be said that this is before bonuses.quoonbeatz wrote:hart's salary was around £85k a week at city.
The papers above are quoting a potential top package when including both signing fees and potential performance related bonuses and divided up over 52 weeks to come to a sensational headline making figure. They do this all the time, Alexis Sanchez is another good example of them doing this

Re: Do you think players..
I actually like this thread. It's better than going to a pantomime. All we need is for a 'he's behind you' post. Such light hearted banter is a welcome break from the drudgery of the day. Now I must away to visit my sick auntie who lives in the woods with the fairies because I dare not venture there after dark (because of the wolf you see).
