Relegation Tips
Right who do we think will be the 3 relegated teams this year. This year I think Cardiff are already down and are certain to finish bottom. Huddersfiled will struggle this year I feel and would be my choice for 19th. 18th I think is between Southampton and Everton. I really think Everton are going to struggle and when you look at them defensively they are a shambles

Not a chance Everton.
Tough but I’d go Cardiff, Huddersfield and Watford.

Re: Reegation Tips
Sky predictor has Wolves (for some reason) as rock bottom. They also have Cardiff to go straight back down but Fulham to finish 12th. Can't remember who the third was (Huddersfield?) but it has us as not dissimilar to last year at 8th.

Re: Reegation Tips
I want to see Everton go down (or at least be in the relegation zone when Silva is sacked) so the "Silva is a great manager" myth can be put to bed.
I also want to see Wolves go down; I've never really liked them but as the newest members of the billionaire owners club, I want them to fail.

Cardiff,Huddersfield...and Brighton please.
Re: Reegation Tips
Cardiff, Huddersfield and Watford for me.
I hope Huddersfield stay up, I like the club and the manager, but I think they're likely to suffer 2nd season syndrome! A lot of their players played at a much higher standard than they have done before. Can they sustain it? Wolves and Fulham will be fine. Everton and West Ham have improved. Southampton, Newcastle and Palace could all struggle as they haven't really reinforced in the window. If Palace lose Zaha before the end of play tomorrow I may change my choices!!
The Watford manager is my tip for first to be sacked though. He might not even see the end of August!! The difference this season is a new manager will have to work with what he's got and Watford ain't got much from what I can see!

Re: Reegation Tips
No chance of Everton going down, their fans set fire to the Wimbledon bus last time they nearly went.
Re: Reegation Tips
Have non of you watched a Marco Silva side before? relegation? HAHAHA He somehow nearly saved Hull without spending a penny on transfers and joining midway through the season when they were pretty much already gone.

Re: Reegation Tips
Wolves and Brighton could have brought in too many players to make it work.
I have a feeling Bournemouths time is up.
Watford and Newcastle bottom half.
Cardiff have to be favourites.

Re: Reegation Tips
Hard to look past Cardiff really for the bottom spot.
I think Huddersfield will struggle to repeat last years heroics.
The last spot I'd go with a 3 way fight between Fulham, Wolves and Newcastle with the Geordies being the ones to drop.

They hate him because of the fuss you made of him on here, suggesting he was a better manager than Dyche brought the hate out in people.KRBFC wrote:Have non of you watched a Marco Silva side before? relegation? Not hard to disagree with some of the posts above : Cardiff, Watford & Huddersfield. As an outsider, I think Leicester may find it tough going. Depends if they stick with Puel too long. ....Main thing is- as long as we're nowhere near it.

Re: Reegation Tips
I chose Wolves, as although they ran away with it last season, the PREM is 10 times harder. To get their players to adapt, they may only beat the ones around them and struggle with the rest. Therefore i think they will be around the drop zonehouseboy wrote:Sky predictor has Wolves (for some reason) as rock bottom. They also have Cardiff to go straight back down but Fulham to finish 12th. Re: Reegation Tips
Also, I think we could be in the mix if we have a managerial change at some point. The likes of us, Bournemouth, Southampton, Watford, Palace and the other mediocre clubs could get dragged in.
I think also there gulf between the top 6 and the rest, the quality of the teams in the Premier League this season is strong.

I'm really struggling to think of any reason during this coming season where this would be a concern... Where would he go - seriously where? I cant see us sacking him either...claptrappers_union wrote:...if we have a managerial change at some point

Re: Reegation Tips
Shame if it happens because I have always liked Wolves but even with all their money the problem may be too much too soon. A lot of new players may take some time to gel by which time morale, or lack of it, might kick in then it's a long way back. A lot is made of how much a club spends but it has shown time and again over the years that it is no guarantee of success, it helps, but it does not always bring in the rewards. Then there are clubs like us who defy all the hype and the odds.theroyaldyche wrote:I chose Wolves, as although they ran away with it last season, the PREM is 10 times harder. Re: Reegation Tips
I don't think you can rule out a new challenge with a club like Leicester, Newcastle or maybe West Ham. I know what you mean though, I dont know which bigger clubs would want him, but if the price is right he might have his head turned. He's got it easy at Burnley though.Rick_Muller wrote:I'm really struggling to think of any reason during this coming season where this would be a concern... Where would he go - seriously where? Re: Reegation Tips
I'm not arrogant enough to predict we won't end up in a relegation battle. Who would have thought WBA or Stoke would have gone down. All I will say is that SD has now got the best squad of players he's had under his stewardship. This should enable him to be more flexible with formations.

Re: Reegation Tips
My 'tip' is it could be anyone from last season's 7th placed side (yes I know who that is) downwards.
There are a lot of teams who are around the same level, where a bad run of injuries/form/poor management could sink them.

Re: Relegation Tips
Got to agree with everybody's choice of Cardiff & Huddersfield.
There is always an established team that plummets for some reason or another, my prediction would be West Ham or Palace. But I'm going for Brighton for my third choice.

Re: Relegation Tips
Newcastle have made a fairly big net profit this window, but in doing so have a better squad than last year. It might be because Rondon plays well against us, but so far:-
Rondon is better than Gayle (in the Premier League, at least).
Mutu is better than having Mitrovic playing for Fulham on loan
The keeper is better than the one/two/three they had in the first half of the season, and now signed properly, not just on loan
Kenedy was the difference between them being lucky in the first half of the season without him and half decent in the second half with him on loan
The only concern is that LeJeune, who is quality, is out for about 5 months - but he did that last year too in about the first game.
Cardiff will do what we did second time around, and go down. Huddersfield may well suffer second season syndrome, and Southampton don't seem to have done a lot at all. Those are my 3 for the drop.
I sort of hope Bournemouth do ok, and like their signings. If they get Chris Meopham too, it will be a good transfer window for them. He has huge potential.
If Chelsea sign Palace's principal diver, then Palace will finish bottom 6. I always predict Watford will fail, and they just don't so, this year, I am predicting that they will stay up easily, and hope they prove me wrong and go down with Liverpool (fat chance) and West Ham - even though I loved their Gonzo and brolly boy vlog after our game there.
