Sterling goal

Post by Im_not_Robbie_Blake » Sun Aug 12, 2018 4:56 pm

I suppose we could have expected him to score a great solo goal today....the kind of thing that doesn't happen when he plays for England.

So difficult to make sense of!

I was thinking the same thing as the ball flew into the back of the net.

To be fair his conversion rate for City isn't very good.

Not really I've always said the players he plays with at city and their movements off the ball give him alot more time and space than he gets with England

Maybe not but if your suggesting he doesn't put the same effort in for England I'd disagree

Wider goalposts and there are bells on the ball.

John Barnes had the same problem back in the day.

The point about John Barnes is a good one. It's easier to play with great players in a team that dominates like City and the Liverpool and Watford teams like Barnes did.

I mentioned the same thing yesterday. Because Pep played him on the left he could cut in on his favoured right foot, his first touch was much better, perhaps we'd be better playing him there for England.

I was not expecting the goal from him, but he did well good technique.
