Citeh carrying on where they left off.

Usual inept rubbish from West Ham.
Early days, though. And Liverpool were good.

Goal incorrectly ruled offside - penalty could have been given to them.

Strange watching MOTD and seeing Joe Hart run out playing for Burnley! Will be a big player for us this season.

The "same old" will do for me.

Seventh again is just fine.

No it wasn't. Jack's foot and part of his ankle and calf was offside.

refs got it right unfortunately as had they missed it the lack of VAR would have given us the goal.

Disallowed goal was clearly offside, correct decision.

Ben Mee on Ings was a penalty all day long.

The one on JBG was a 50/50 ball and they were both rightly committed. No penalty.

Looking at those never ending instructions Laurent Depoitre got from the Hudd Town management, before he got on the pitch. It doesn't bode well for the Terriers.

So is it fair to say that Burnley could have come away with all 3 points in that 1st hour......'
.....yes The panel agreed

MOTD then proceeds to show the few chances Southampton had in the last 15 minutes and none of the multiple chances Burnley had in the 1st hour

It's no coincidence that Southamptons goalkeeper was man of the match

' Burnley feel they could have had a penalty too'

Don't show that one but highlight the Ings one for Southampton which was half the shout of that on Gudmunson

I was expecting more coverage. You normally get 7mins on motd and with only 3 matches today I was thinking 9. We ended up with 6 and the game deserved more.

Ings got his ankle in the way of a genuine and fair tackle, it was not a pen.
Well done ref and assistant.

I thought the same thing. They just don't have any goals in them. Is it 3 in their last 11 PL games now? They've been found out and I can see them really struggling this season. It's a shame as I'd like them to keep punching above their weight like us, but I can't see past them for relegation this season.

I was surprised to see Glenn Murray starting up front for Brighton as well. That doesn't bode well for them at all. They were awful away from home last season yet Hughton, for all his signings, decided to go "same again" at the weekend. There's much more pressure on their home form this season, as there was for us last season. Teams are more aware of how they play and how to nullify them at the Amex. They'll need to pick up 2 or 3 more wins away from home his season in my opinion and I'm not sure they're capable of that.

Cardiff looked the same as well - absolutely zero threat! They don't look like they've got anything going forward. They'll win the odd game here and there but surely they'll spend pretty much the whole season in the bottom three? The fact Warnock praised Fraser doesn't bode well for when they come up against Sanchez, Salah, De Bruyne, Eriksen, Hazard and co.!!

It was not a penalty as Ings had already gone over on his ankle if you watch it closely before Mee touched him.

Ref was spot on and ours was a 50 -50 ball so no penalty.

I suspect if VAR had been used for both incidents, neither would have been given. I actually think Gudmundsson`s was far worthier a call as the challenge could be seen as `out of control`and he made clear contact with the player in a goal scoring position. With Ings, he was at speed, the ball was going out of play and he did not have the ball under any kind of control.

I thought Gudmundssons was as much a pen as Ings regardless of it being a 50/50 ball defender caught his ankle

The JBG one is interesting because if that challenge is made on the halfway line then it's a free kick all day long, in some cases maybe a red card. Because it was a goal-line clearance it wasn't even debated. It was a dangerous challenge.
