Hardly surprising.

We can't have him and Yaya in the same team.

Have I imagined reading that it was to be closer to an ill family member?

The comments from Phelan don’t read as though it’s the end for him, although if he’s out of contract after this year, I’d be a little surprised if we haven’t looked to arrange a new deal.

He may not make it with us but from the little I’ve seen of him, he will surely play at a reasonable level and could command a fee.

I read it as well, an Uncle with a serious illness. I won't mention the word as 3 friends have all been given a very short life expectancy in recent weeks.

Sorry to hear about that. I'm perhaps not yet at the age when that unfortunately becomes a more common occurence with friends. One of my close colleagues has had to work with us more part time for the next few weeks, due to his Dad being in and out hospital for this.

This is a shame for both parties I think. We're seriously short in midfield and he's the one who looked closest to the first team set up in the friendlies vs Montpellier and Espanyol. He's clearly a talented lad and hopefully this loan will do him good. Obviously family comes first and we wish him all the best, but it's a shame he's not around this season as I think he would have got minutes under his belt eventually.

Always thought he looks a tidy player. Hopefully he returns with plenty of game time and ready to push further. He’s still young enough to make it with us.

Aiden has always impressed me, he fits the framework and is a useful addition on the bench.

I hope everything works out for him.

You have to be near Messi levels to get a game in the premier league at 21 or under.

It would be better for all concerned if youth team football wasn't publicised and no expectations put on them.
Fans are desperate for a youth team player to come through and it seems like we have waited for ever for Aiden to break through which is unfair.
