Joey Barton - attached to a microphone for a season
Joey Barton has allowed microphone (and I think, camera) access to the Fleetwood training ground and to the stadium on matchdays.
The audio-visual footage will then be collated at the end of the season and major tv operators will be able to bid for the package.
I don’t know what to make of it really. I so desperately want Joey to succeed in his first job, but when he’s talking to his players in the presence of a camera or microphone, you have to ask just who Joey is doing it for: fit the benefit of the players or for the ‘to be’ viewing public. I really hope Joey shows just what a top bloke he can be with this ‘experiment’ but at the same time, can’t help but feel, it could be a bit car crash. Still, I’m sure it’ll be a good watch.

Very surprising. You wouldn’t think he wanted any distractions. Especially so early on.

Self obsessed media whore. Did amazing for us in the promotion season but had he not played for us he would be despised on here and this kind of antic would see him added to the silly "prick list" some like to pedal

I think Joey has a lot of potential, and could potentially be a future Burnley manager at some point in the future.
But he don’t half make some risky career choices

If the money raised went into the club then I don’t see a problem.

" Do I not like that."
Re: Joey Barton - attached to a microphone for a season
I’ll certainly be giving that a watch at the end of the season. Hopefully it’ll be about showcasing the ins and outs of football management and not simply an entertainment piece though.

I hope he remembers to turn the mic off before he goes to the bookies.

All #BrandBarton really. If it goes well, all good, if it goes badly and he gets binned off, its good for his media profile

Are Fleetwood not driving this? What an opportunity to get some exposure, who had ever heard of Fleetwood Town Football Club 8-10 years ago?
They have put a lot of money, faith and trust in to Joey Barton, this is their big moment,.

Don Revie filmed a game against us in the 70s! That didn’t end well for him did it

I believe its Fleetwoods idea not Joeys...The club have seen an opportunity to make big bucks...They are talking to both SkySports and BBC regarding a documentary series.

Not the first and won't be the last. Bet it'll be a cracking watch, too.

This could be quite a nice little earner for Fleetwood Town. Good luck to Joey, who really is a breath of fresh air to the flyde and division 1 football.
To few personalities in football these days and Joey is just what is needed to add some spice and controversy

Could go either way this one.
If he comes out with some of his cringeworthy philosophy sh-ite and the team are not doing well or responding to his speeches will any other team take him seriously for future roles ?
I’m not sure how many young managers in their first season would even think about exposing themselves to something like this - I doubt any - but none have the ego of Joey Barton.
I’ll probably watch it though as I do find these kind of things enjoyable as you don’t usually get this kind of access to the players / changing room.
I remember the Peter Reid one, Neil Wornock, Taylor as England manager, and John Sillet all being good. Also watched the Juventus one on Netflix and the Man City one looks good.
