Midfield cover
Tonight highlighted what a poor transfer window we had . We only have 3 central midfielders available Westwood , Cork and Hendrick as I dont think we will see Defour for at least 2 months . There is no cover for lennon or JBG either as i cant see Brady being available for at least another month and although Mcneil has potential it is too much of a step up
Re: Midfield cover
I was hoping we would get in a central midfielder a winger and a striker but for whatever reason it didn't happen
I wouldn't say it was a poor transfer window for us as we made 3 top signings and Ben Mee signed his contract.
But you are right we are short in central midfield and out wide

I know, we're completely overrun all the time and the amount of goals we are conceding due to this is appalling!!

Hendrick and Westwood poor tonight, both went missing in the 2nd half. We would never have scored but for Jack Cork who swung the game in our favour

Re: Midfield cover
So u think that we are ok in the central midfield dept . All 3 midfielders are more than good enough for the prem but if we get through to the group stages of europe all 3 are going to be knackered . If 1 gets injured you have 2 playing thurs , sunday , thurs , sunday and the work that they get through to me wont be sustainable . Fingers crossed i am wrong . The same goes for lennon and jbg they are going to be knackered by the end of October

Re: Midfield cover
We are very short. And lack of creativity accross the midfield is evident and worrying. But we are looking tough to break down. 38 nil nils would keep us up...

Why would i support Manure or Citeh . Just saying that i think we are going to get caught out , and surely it could and should have been avoided

Re: Midfield cover
Hard work chasing the ball around like that for 2 hours. They are an exceptionally talented lot, all very comfortable with the ball but unfortunately for them without a cutting edge. Obviously glad we won the game but too many games like that where the opposition dominate possession will take its toll on our players and their performances in the Premier league. Are Olympiakos better than them?

Re: Midfield cover
No. Olympiakos have a better pedigree. And are one of the biggest and most passionately supported clubs in europe. That will be their best threat. But on the field theyre nowhere near the team theyve been.Silkyskills1 wrote:Hard work chasing the ball around like that for 2 hours. Re: Midfield cover
For this campaign we needed 2 teams . No problem with the keepers , defence or up front but midfield we are severly lacking
Re: Midfield cover
Take Jack Cork out what we have available in midfield right now and we are almost bereft. This could be our undoing.
