I have not got a season card but been assured of tickets and there's 3 of us out of our party to get them on Monday and fly out Monday afternoon
They should not be saying that. They are presuming there will be enough left when they go on general sale. I expect that to be the case, but at the end of the day we have around 15,000 season ticket holders and there are only around 1,600 tickets available in total. If there was suddenly a mad rush of season ticket holders purchased over the weekend then they would not go on general sale.

I guess the ticket office mean that if they do sell out the 800 before getting on general sale then there is another batch ready that they'll take for the general sale lot as there will be a fair few buying (already a few have said that they are waiting so they can get tickets together)

I realise 'realized' is not the English way, but then the spell-checks seem to be American, so which way to go? In my novel I've put 'realise' because I'm English. I can only think it must be a wish on behalf of Olimpiakos to be more French and EU.

They have an option of more than the 800 if they require them that's why they said it the end holds 1500
And the other away section holds another 1500

Accept that, we've got up to 1,600. But what happens in the unlikely event that 1,600 season ticket holders decide to buy tickets, there won't be any left then for general sale. It's extremely unlikely but not impossible.

"Typically at this time of year at this notice I think you'd be talking between £700 and £1000 per head depending on the size of the plane (this includes landing slots etc etc)"

Is that the price for buying the plane?

We won’t sell anywhere near 1600 so they are safe in saying that. Take Istanbul, even you didn’t go. We will struggle to shift 800

Presume we’ll sell about a 1000 /1200 as different kettle of fish than Istanbul and everyone had more notice , loads of people combining with a hol/short breaks etc Has far more a “ big European night” feel to it and I personally can’t wait , I’m even taking the wife !

Why did everyone have more notice? We didn’t find out out for both games until the Thursday before.

Maybe 4-0 in the first leg gave a clue.

True Tony , but I’m more referring to knowing we were playing a well known Euro team ( if we beat the Turks) in a far more accessible and desirable location .

More accessible I don't know. I was never going to Istanbul so didn't really check things out. Sorting flights out for Athens proved very stressful to be honest but at least I got some at a lot less than I'd have played for Istanbul. Is it a more desirable location? I've never been to either Istanbul or Athens so can't really comment on that.

The prices of flights as they are for this trip are more than what Im willing to pay. Only because I dont want to mess about flying here, stopping there etc. If there was a direct flight, full of clarets and transfers from/to airport to the ticket pickup etc it’ll be worth the extra £££. Obviously that all depends on what price was quoted though.

Some on here may be familiar with a company called Sport Options, I've used them many times for travel to England games.
They ran a trip for Hibs' recent away game in Norway - see link for details

They have encountered issues in obtaining an aircraft for the forthcoming Spain v England game...

I've also used Thomas Cook for England games and in recent years they have tended to book you on to scheduled flights rather than chartering a plane

I sense that there's a lot more people going to this one than Istanbul. I'd say we'll have at least a thousand there.

It is possible that Olympiacos do not expect a great demand time on their fans. They may well have said to Burnley - sell as many as you like, we will accommodate them.

5% is what they have to offer, not what they may wish to offer.

Not sure why they should not be showing common sense. It is clearly common sense to suggest there will be a ticket to help people book early. Seems to me like the club is learning from the shambolic Istanbul situation.

Out of interest, when did they club decide to change from 9:15 to 4:00 and is it the same for general sale tomorrow as I have mates who think it is 9:15 tomorrow.
Thanks.

So you want the club to say tickets will get to general sale, so that people can book early?

What would happen to those that book early, if they didn’t then get to general sale?

Absolutely.

It wouldn’t not get to general sale. They obviously know how many are likely to be going and whether they can get more tix as appropriate from Greece. Looks like they’re learning.

If they’d have done this for Istanbul it would have saved me a fortune. There was 4K in a 17k stadium....

They took my Claret number and said if you have any problem after this ring up this office and quote your claret number

The club don’t often get it right when it comes to ticketing but they have got this spot on. They know how sales are going and how many extra tickets we can have so have the knowledge to tell people they will get a ticket if they want one allowing them to book flights.

Spot on for a change. Well done.

This is the problem with the club and communication. It’s not a huge problem, but it just grinds when something is so avoidable.

If they believe everyone will get a ticket to a level of confidence where they are telling people to book flights....well just cut the messing and make tickets available for general sale from the off. If you aren’t confident enough to do that...well you shouldn’t be confident enough to tell someone to spend 100’s of their hard earned money on a flight, without selling them a ticket there and then.

There’s a lot we do right, communicating effectively and professionally is one area where there is room for improvement. People are more forgiving when the a business is small and the cost is low. We are a big business now, operating at a high level, and fans are parting with significant amounts of money to follow the club on this
Journey. The money is there to get all this right. Just employ or train people to a higher level.

No doubt we’re learning as we go, and I feel they did get the info out quicker for Athens than Istanbul.... it’s just some of the issues you could see a mile off.

I really hope this is right, booked flights and accommodation at over 700 quid, as well as taking 2 days out of holiday. Nervous about getting tickets but also looking forwards to meeting my mates in Athens and seeing a sizeable number of clarets there.

I am confident that the club has an assurance from Olympiacos that all can be accommodated.

However, ad pointed out by Indecisive, if that is the case, why not general sale from day one, to breed confidence?

Up the Clarets.

Don't know if anyone can help, trying to buy 4 tickets online, I am currently away. Tickets have been added to basket, I am putting travel details in etc. Then basket empties all of us have clarets numbers.
I have tried to ring ticket office but surprisingly no one is answering. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you made sure all your friends and Family are highlighted in the boxes and all the names appear
And then submit all the information to all individuals names once you have done that it should take you to the payment option
Its working ok just purchased 3

Only 400 sold as of yesterday which seems surprisingly low considering all the interest and number of people booking flights etc.

I'm sure it will rise today with it being on general sale.

Ordered tickets on Friday and only got the standard purchase confirmation email. Is that all I need to take with me as well as my passport to collect my ticket at the hotel?

I’ve been told today that we’ve asked for extra tickets and at least 900 are making the trip.

How true that is I’m not sure but it would be a fantastic following if it is.

In Istanbul did they actually ask you to show the ticket confirmation receipt?
