Why do I give a sh*t what he's done since leaving us? How well he did or didn't do at other clubs is irrelevant to the job he did here.

The first name that came into my head when I read the thread title was the aforementioned Tony Grant. I’ve seen full blown arguments in the stands over him.

Another one for me is Steve Jones. I never, ever rated the lad yet others seemed to think he was brilliant.

Dave Jones has already been discussed at length but they’re probably the 3 that immediately spring to mind.

Yes. Paul Weller. When I held an ST for the Jimmy McIlroy Stand, there was a bloke who would scream blue murder at the lad every home game. He would wait for the slightest error or misplaced pass and then lay into him. After he scored an OG against Coventry at the Turf, the bloke literally turned the air blue.

We used to joke about how far into the game would we get before this gobsh1te screamed "GET OFF THE PITCH WELLER!".

I recall confronting him about it once, and he said he would see me outside! He even threatened to 'sort my step-sister out too.

Think it was an injury that stopped Paul Smith moving on as well. He had a SWEET left foot...a joy watching him develop in the reserves!

You are talking out of your arse, I never said Cotterill was great, to keep us up given the circumstances was a fine achievement, i'm sure we had like 9 signed professional players when he walked in and barely any money to spend. Comparing then to anything post 2009 is utter bs

I never quite understood the bile aimed at Branchy, at no time was he approaching our worst player at the time - he was on and off like most wingers. When he went to wing back he was a bit shaky at first, but I always thought it was natural for a winger to take a while to get the defensive nowce so it didn't over bother me. By the time he was hanging up his Claret boots he was a decent enough full back.

Debranchio could play anywhere. Not many can.
