When will an Asian footballer play for England?
I know this has been discussed at length on this forum in the past but I found this short film interesting.

When they change the rules to allow people to play for any nation they choose, regardless of where they were born and raised.
Oh. Hang on...
Actually, what Sparta says.

When a British Asian player is good enough at football to play for England...... I'm not sure how you define Asian, I presume you mean South Asia? Bangladesh, Pakistan, India etc? look at their national football teams, they're all terrible at football but decent at cricket, why is that? probably because they play cricket over football.

Asia's a big place, do you have a particular region or country in mind?

Good in the Championship, not so good in the PL, the club not the player.

We had the first ever Asian yts apprentice thingy. Big news at the time - jamal randawa or something. Quite big news at the time. Brighton fans don’t like it when you tell them about that

In this country, when someone is referred to as Asian they are usually of Indian or Indian Subcontinent heritage. In America, when someone is referred to as being Asian, they would of Far Eastern heritage. However, when someone refers to someone being from America, they actually mean someone from the USA, even though it includes the whole of North, Central and South America. It’s all very confusing isn’t it?gawthorpe_view wrote:Asia's a big place, do you have a particular region or country in mind?

When will eleven Englishmen play for England? Never again. When will our media stop being racist? Never again. Reason being, is that they use race to divide and rule, as with gender and sexual orientation. It's a case of who can they use to bash who with, to keep the public forever fighting among themselves and caught up in the melee. You can always trust the Celts to fight among themselves, why do you think the Irish are so popular with our government?

The media was saying we had the most diverse squad at the world cup. need I say any more? In fact that is a racist comment from the media to suggest that any one team is more diverse than another. Every family in the world is diverse, as all family members know. Chalk and cheese in most cases.

Re: When will an Asian footballer play for England?
Terry Butcher already played for us didnt he?
Re: When will an Asian footballer play for England?
Never. You have to be English (or at least, a UK citizen) to play for England. I suppose we could get someone who has a British passport through his British parents or grandparents, who qualifies for England even though he is actually Asian?
I know the England cricket team had a couple of Indians played for them (Ranjitsinhji and the Nawab of Pataudi), but that was before India had a test team.
