Spoke to some Greek colleagues and they concur re the metro. Will also take this route to the ground which is close to a marina (and therefore probably drinking establishments)!AlargeClaret wrote:The James Joyce looks a decent shout , only 15 mins on metro right outside the ground from there too .Syntagma doesn’t have that much going on really . Lad and I are gonna get the metro as don’t fancy being herded right in ( and early too )without a sample of the atmosphere . Was in Athens 2 yrs ago and the metro is cheap and v easy to get around on.

Dazzler
Dont disagree but we need to get 100% behind the lads and 'enjoy the ride' and in the Premier League accept that we are whatever one says we are still punching above our weight and I would be more than happy if we can stay in the Premier and become an established Premier league side.
I cant understand the negative comments on here at lot of the time from some of our 'fans'

You must be on the same flights as me On which I am travelling hoity-toity class Travelling back via Munich on the Friday afternoon.JR1882 wrote:Alecbfc....where are you flying from? Im going solo from Birmingham at 6am Wednesday to frankfurt then frankfurt to athens landing about 1.30 i think.
How are you getting to the airport at stupid o'clock? I am going to park at the station I think. £10 odd per day and the shuttle train takes you over to the airport itself. £50+ quoted for using official airport parking
Re: Athens: Wednesday night meeting/drinking point
Hi mate - i run a pub in solihull about 5 miles from the airport - youre welcome to park there for free and taxi in with me its about 20 quid

Probably going to head to the James Joyce pub tomorrow night. Looks like a pretty decent boozer and serves food too.

After going to Aberdeen and Istanbul, I can’t do this one. Really don’t want it to be the end of the journey though. The group games allow time for some proper planning around work and family.quoonbeatz wrote:same here. this and istanbul are literally the only 2 weeks of the year I can't take the time off work. typical!

Fingers well and truly crossed.

Re: Athens: Wednesday night meeting/drinking point
James Joyce at Monastiraki, is a good shout, if using the metro. M1 straight to ground.
