Netflix etc
Netflix etc
I love watching films at the cinema so a couple of friends have recommended me also trying Neflix
Anyone on here got it and is it worth getting and is it good value or is there a better alternative?
And is it just a question of downloading an app and paying for it?
And can you then watch films on an Android phone on an iPad and on a laptop all at the same time if needs be?
Or is it just one of those at a time?
And how much is it and do they have deals from time to time?
Thanks

I pay the 9.99 a month for 4 devices? And 4k. Great value, the content is brilliant. Get it.

Re: Netflix etc
Ditto, I also download stuff to watch when travelling by air or train.
Re: Netflix etc
Can you basically watch any film going apart from those that are out in the cinema right now?
So is it an app that you download and can you watch different films on a mobile an iPad and a laptop all at the same time?

Re: Netflix etc
I don't get why you liking the cinema would mean you should get netflix?
It has a catalogue of tv shows, documentary and films. The catalogue is limited for all areas as they compete with people like Amazon Prime for rights.
That said, netflix does have some good content and it is worth the £9.99 a month but if you are buying it for a massive film catalogue then you may be disappointed as the films you want may not all be on there.
This site may help you understand what content is on there and whether you feel the 9.99 p/m cost is value for money
https://www.justwatch.com/uk/provider/netflix" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
for movies only
https://www.justwatch.com/uk/provider/netflix/movies" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It aslo can show you whats on amazon prime etc.
There are apps where you can get new releases (illegally) for free but if you enjoy the cinema experience and don't mind paying for that, Im not sure if this would be even on your radar.

Re: Netflix etc
I'm with JohnMac. download some stuff before you travel to watch on the move. Perfect.
Massive library of content, movies and tv, so the search button is handy.
I googled "Netflix content" and got thi. It's for Ireland but should be similar wherever.

I am not really interested in streaming TV shows only movies and preferably quite recent ones
Having just now looked online for people's views I think that maybe Now TV Cinema or possibly Amazon would be best for me
Any thoughts guys?

Don’t sign up thinking you can watch any film out there that isn’t in cinemas, you will be very disappointed.
However, unique original series by Netflix are excellent entertainment. There is a decent selection of films in each genre, but not amazing amounts of depth before you get to the dross B movies.
Well worth the money, but don’t expect 10,000 high quality films to go at.

I honestly think you'll find it hit and miss, depending on your taste in films.mkmel wrote:I am not really interested in streaming TV shows only movies and preferably quite recent ones

Netflix can have some obscure stuff on it, but you have to search. There are very limited new releases, and being in the UK it differs vastly from what's on offer to Netflix USA customers.
Now TV Cinema Pass is great (you can get it to 3.99 a month for 4 months if you try and cancel online after you sing up) but even 9.99 a month is good, I'm just stingy with money.
There are new releases on there and you have the added bonus of being able to watch Sky Movies live as though you had the package.
I'm not well versed in Prime but again, hit and miss, with the added bonus of being able to actually pay to rent movies on there that are brand new, same with Now TV and the Sky Store I believe.

Re: Netflix etc
Terrarium TV is the only app you need. It works on virtually all devices and is usually the 1st place that gets new films and tv episodes ( for example the Citeh documentary series was on there on the day of release)

I have both Amazon and Netflix accounts.
Neither have everything I want to watch so it's better to have both I find.
If you're looking for recent films then they may disappoint you, so worth browsing them both first before getting.

Re: Netflix etc
Got both. Netflix through someone elses log ins and prime my own.
Both are OK. Some excellent stuff but a lot of shite.

Re: Netflix etc
A friend of mine gave me his log in details and it worked for 2 days and after that every time it kept saying incorrect password
My friend tells me he hasn't changed his password so only thing I can think of is that there are more people using his login details than what is allowed
Can't get hold of him atm but could that be the reason?
Anyways I have recently taken up Netflix free for 1 month offer

Re: Netflix etc
We have Netflix. Pay a fiver a month. Have it on the downstairs Tv and Roku upstairs. You get the occasional new movie and loads of TV shows. Constantly updating and adding. The missus hogs ours. She's just started watching iZombie. Wouldn't get it if you want the latest movies but there's a large selection of decent box sets on. Breaking Bad etc.The Roku we have is particularly useful as it includes Now TV, Rakuten, Google, Amazon and Sky Box office. Pay as you go etc all included in the software.

I use both Amazon and Netflix.
Both have pros and cons but equally there's stuff on both that I watch.
Cancelled most of my sky package recently due to what's available on those two.

Any thoughts on Amazon Prime?
They'll also bill you for a year in advance I find, but I use it enough that it's fine.
Re: Netflix etc
I subscribe to Cinema Paradiso who rent DVDs/Blu-Rays.
If it's on DVD there's a very good chance they will have it, including older films and foreign ones. Costs around £2 per disc.

As someone else posted, usually takes me longer to find something than the film itself!
As for prime. I pay for it but cant get it working on firestick at all :-/
