Bottom 3

Just looked at the Premier League table. We will be bottom 3 if we don't get at least a point tomorrow. :(

When was the last time Burnley were in the bottom 3 in Premier League?

Can't get to the game - always had another commitment if the game was moved to Sunday. Hoping for 3 points, of course.

I think we can get a draw tomorrow. I can't see a win, but think we can come away with something.

Need to start winning or we'll be left behind.

If results go right we can be eigth.
Far too early for looking at stuff like this. You need at least 6 games to know what level your opposition are likely to be at for the year.

With only 35 games to turn it around, panic stations.

I think once a team has played both twice at home and twice away in the league, that to me constitutes form. But of course, that can be temporary.

So tomorrow's game and home vs United before we have an idea of how things are going.

Cardiff and Huddersfield need to be cut adrift.

0-0 today and Hudds went down to 10. Job becomes 10x easier if there’s effectively only one relegation spot to scrap to avoid.

I spent an enjoyable afternoon watching Huddersfield and Cardiff, A great atmosphere, lots of passion and with Huddersfield down to 10 men Cardiff put the pressure on , but to no avail. It finished goalless. I would fancy our chances of a double against either of them, but we would need some craft to get behind Cardiff's defenders. I can see us leading the middle group at the moment, but we do need strengthening , either by the returning players and/or some willingness to take a bit of a financial risk in January. and get a natural goal poacher.

we might already have a natural poacher in Vydra?

I know its speculation after just a few games but our first run of games are very kind. We need to get points where possible. Our last 4 or 5 games of the season are horrendous

So far Cardiff, Huddersfield and Saints look like they could be in a dog fight. Seen enough to know Brighton, Wolves, Leicester,, Bournemouth, Everton, Watford, Palace, all capable of finishing in top 8 or 9 clubs. Very impressed with Brighton tonight

The thing with us, is we seem to collect points against the more difficult teams. And it's against the 'easier' opponents where we should at least be drawing, but we don't.

Brighton won't finish that high. They've played 2 away and lost 2. We finished 7th and only lost 5 away all season.

Their away form is simply not good enough to finish that high.

If you really think Burnley will be in a relegation battle, personally i thought Hudds and Cardiff sharing the spoils was a good result for everyone else, between the two of them they have managed 1 goal in 6 games,Huddersfield have scored once in 8 home matches,if these blanks continue for both they will be marooned by May.

Equally we are not exactly prolific ATM,we just need to grind a few results out until our long-term injuries return, whether the goals are from set-pieces or open play doesn't matter, but we have to put points on the board starting tomorrow, even a draw would suffice.

I think Watford should worry, 2 seasons ago Swansea beat us in our first home game, last year WBA beat us in our 1st home game, both now in Championship!

I have a feeling we'll get tonked tomorrow! Fulham look pretty slick to me.
At the moment we are desperate for some creativity.....backs to the wall draw is the best case scenario me thinks.

Huddersfield and Cardiff plus 1, right now with the way we're playing, I wouldn't be surprised if it's us but it's really far too early to tell. We need a win and fast, favourable games, non of the ''big 6'' in the first 3 games, would be real disappointing to potentially have 1 point from 3 games with United next up.

Well, we didn't win for 11 matches during last season, taking only 6 points in that run.

Every season we are in the PL with our resources we should be in a relegation battle. It is great testimony that in the previous 2 seasons we have not been. Let's not get carried away with success of the previous seasons and think we are a top half side now. Also, let's not be pathetic in August in thinking we will be relegated. It is a long season in which we will be scraping to stay in the PL with 10 - 12 other teams.

In true Clarets Mad / UTC style, man up and grow a pair.

1...2 to Burnley. no disgrace in losing to olympiacos the other night we did quite well considering. Fulham do have lots of pace though and a good manager.we certainly won't lose.

I must admit, I wondered how we'd got to being one game away from the group stages of the Europa league.

We will get better Watford was a blip.We have quality in the team and have made great signings in Hart Gibson and Vydra.Robbie Brady is close to a return as is Defour.
We have played two games another 13 wins from 35 games and we are safe UTC

“Robbie Brady is close to a return as is Defour”

Hmm, Defour is weeks away apparently so might depend on your definition of “close”.

Last season, one of our best results was Man City at home, achieved without the help of Brady and Defour.

I never pay too much attention to the leave tables until we’ve played around 10 games in he Prem, or about 12 games in the Championship. You get a feel around then where you might finish.

And if we win we would be 9th and above ManUre in the table. What does that go to show ? Nothing, apart from the fact it is is way too early in the season to be getting panicked about our League position.

Even if we lose today there should be no panic. It has been a weird start for the players. Europe is so big to some of these players I think some of them will be gutted not to be playing (e.g. Lowton and Mee who will never play internationally or in Europe again) and in general the uncertainty of whether they are to play or not may make it hard to focus when they do play. They’ve been used to same eleven, same eleven every week under Dyche. After Thursday it will settle down (even if we get to the group stages, having 6 guaranteed games will relax them).

Hi bfcmik, my post was just an observation. I'm sure Sean Dyche is already well ahead of all us of in thinking about what we need today, next Thursday, next w/end and beyond.

I hope we get 3 points today - and victory we need to progress in the Europa on Thursday. And, of course, I'll be thrilled if we can get a win against MUtd.

If we don't, well we are all Burnley fans....
